Regular Meeting
DATE: June 4, 1979 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: R. Selfridge, President; Trustees.,
G. Ansley, J. King, D. Rife, L.
Robinson, S. Yates, were present.
Trustee, J. D'Arcy was absent.
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
with the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken. Trustee
J. D'Arcy was absent.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve the minutes of May 7th and
May 21st, as printed. Seconded by J. King. Motion declared
carr~.ed .
President Selfridge read a letter regarding the Midwest
Musical Festival. D. Rife made a motion that the Village
proclaim June 17th as the Fifteenth Annual Midwest Musical
Festival date. Seconded by G. Ansley. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge presented a plaque to retired Trustee G.
Beahm in appreciation of his years of service.
J. King made a motion to accept the letters of resignation
from Ann Higgins and Officer Hoffman from the pola.ce depart-
ment. Seconded by G. Ansley. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to hire as reglacement police officers,
Mr. Offerman and Mr. Mander, at a starting wage of $12,000.00,
with Mander to start June 9, and Offerman to start June 16,
and the wage to be adjusted as of July 1, 1979, to coincide
with the new pay scale. Seconded by S. Yates. Vote by roll
call; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates,
aye. Five aye, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to purchase a new moving radar unit to
replace a non-operative unit at a total cost of $2,885.Q0, with
the cost after trade-in being $1,685.00. Seconded by G.
Ansley. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; King, aye; Rife,
aye; Rabinson, aye; Yates, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.

D. Rife made a motion to approve the revised preliminary plats
of Peerless Estates Unit No. 11, as per the plan commission
recommendation in case no. 74-52279PP. Seconded by L.
Robinson. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Ring, aye, Rife,
aye; Robinson, aye; Yates, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to replace the carpet in the Civil
Defense Offices in the basement of the Village Hall and to
accept Goldblatt's bid of $679.29, for carpet and installation.
Seconded by S. Yates. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; .King,
aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye; Yates, aye; Five ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge appointed Thomas Mefferd as Emergency
Services and Disaster Agency director.
President Selfridge announced that public hearings on the
annexation of Raver Ridge Estates anal the Parks Brothers'
property will be continued at another time.
On motion, meeting adjourned to executive session at 8:15,p.m.
