.PLAINFTELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

DATE: March 19, 1979 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: R. Selfridge, President, Trustees, G. Ansley,
G. BeaYun, J. King, D. Rife, L. Robinson were
present. Trustee J. D'Arcy was absent.
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag.. Roll call was taken. Trustee, J. D'Arcy was absent.
D. Rife made a motion to approve current invoices for payment as presented.
Seconded by T~. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; King,
aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge announced the dinner honoring Claude Jennings, Village
Treasurer, wha is retiring, will be April 20th.
President Selfridge appointed Charles Smith and James Hamilton to the
Plan Commission fora term of one year.. Also appointed were Ex-Off icio
members: Lorin Robinson, Vita Sebastiano, Sigurd Hjemv ick, Robert Whitley
and H. James Wrath far terms of one year..
L. Robinson made a motion to approve Joe Bennett attending 111inais State
Water Convention in Springf field April 17,18 and 1 9 at a cost of approx imately
$.180.00. Seconded by G, Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays, Motion declared
carried .
J. King made a motion to pass ordinance No. 9/+2, "Lease Of Real Property",
Chapter 1, Article 5, Section 5-4 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village
of Plainfield. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beaknn,
aye; King, aye; Rife, nay; Robinson, aye. Four ayes, one nay, Motion declared
carried .
G, Ansley made a motion to authorize investment of surplus Village funds in
30-day Certif icates of Deposit. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.

President Selfridge appointed Village Treasurer Claude Jennings, Village Clerk
and G. Ansley as committee to investigate School Hospztal Group Plan.
On motion meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m .- to an EXecutive Session to discuss
personnel and real estate.

President Selfridge called the adjourned meeting to order at 9:40 p.m.
L. Robinson made a motion to authorize ESDA to submit a bid to the Plairif.ield
Fire District to offer to dispatch around the clock. Seconded by .7. King.
Motion declared carried.
On motion meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
