Regular Meeting
DATE: January 8, 1979
,MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT:

Complete Board was present
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were
present.
G. Beahm made a motion to approve minutes of December 4 and December 18,
1978 .meetings as printed. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Motion declared carried.
A letter was read from the Plainfield Fire Protection District requesting
that ambulance service be extended to include the entire Plainfield Fire
Protection District.
D. Rife made a motion to extend ambulance service to include the entire
Plainfield Fire Protection District with the District paying $45.00 per
call for all uncollected calls outside Plainfield Township. Seconded
by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'A~cy, aye;
King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
Considerable discussion was held relative to progress on water and sewer
extensions to Trinity Midwest Corporation. Representatives from Bada
Construction Company, Contractor, assured work would continue to over the
weekend to meet requirements.
L. Robinson made a motion to send two people from Emergency Services to Peoria
at :a .cos.t of $50.0(}-.. :. to attend Hazardous Materials Seminar, January 27th
and 28th. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Michael Troyanski as a full time dispatcher
under the CETA Program. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Gloria Reagen as part time Crossing Guard at
$2.85 per hour. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;
Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
J, King made a motion to hire Ann Higgins as full time Police Officer
effective January 16, 1979 at $12,000.00 per year. Seconded by G. Beahm.

J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 938, "An Ordinance Amending The
Code Of Ordinances Of The Village Of Plainfield Relating To Licensing And
Regulating The Sale Of Alcoholic Liquors", Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 1-3
of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by D. Rife.
Vote by roll call: Ansley, nay; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye;
Robinson, nay. Four ayes, two nays. Motion declared carried.
.The Public Hearings .for `annexation, River Ridge Estates and Parks Bros. were
continued.
The Public,Hearing for Case No. 68--1$79A for annexation of property by Joseph
Frieders and Mary Coupland was held. There were no objectors present and no
letters of objection were received. Village Attorney was directed to prepare
Ordinance of Annexation.
D. Rife made a motion to pass yearly Resolution for Construction on State
Highways. Seconded J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'Arcy, ape; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
Discussion was held relative to Lots 1 thru 5 and 11 thru 1~, Marybrook I
Subdivision which were annexed by default in 1965 (failure to record). Ordinance
for Annexation will be passed at February 5, 1979 Board meeting.
On motion meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
