PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRItSTEES
Regular Meeting
DATE: November 6, 1978
AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OE BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board was present
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:~0 p.m, with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll ca11 was taken. All members of the Board were
present.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve minutes as printed. Seconded by D. Rife.
Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to table Lambert liquor license application until
next Board meeting. Seconded by D, Rife, Five ayes, one nay. Motion declared
carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve the change order regarding the water main
crossing beneath E. J. & E, Ry, spur track in the total amount of $5,750.00.
Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to purchase a desk in the amount of $75.00 far the
computer room. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm,
afire; D'Arcy, aye;. King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge appointed a committee consisting of D. Rife, L. Robinson,
T. Mefferd and G. Beahm to look into the feasibility of purchasing and installing
a 40 kilowatt generator for the Village Hall.
President Selfridge appointed the following to serve on the Ambulance Committee:
J, D'Arcy, Chairman, G, Beahm and T. Mefferd.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to provide ambulance service to include Wheatland
Township effective immediately on a temporary basis. Seconded by D. Rife.
Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to purchase a new Kirby vacuum cleaner at a cost of
$350.00. Seconded by J. King, Vote by ro11 call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; Kirig, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve payment of $2,620.00 to Allen Mauer for
building inspection fees for the months of September and October. Seconded
by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Beahm,

L. Robinson made a motion to have attoxney send a letter to Plainfield
Savings & Loan Association to comply with conditions set forth when they
were granted their variance. Seconded by D. Rife. Motion declared
carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to have attorney send lettexs to nonconfci:rmixig
users of movable signs. Seconded by .7. D'Arcy. Motion declared carried.
J. D~Axcy made a motion to approve petition for annexation of Robert and
Mary Coupland, Van Dyke Road (Case No. 65-11678 A) and have attorney draft
Ordinance for annexation. Seconded by G. Seahm. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D~Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye.
Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
On motion meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
