E. Slick hereinabove set out be, and it is here by, accepted by said City of Richmond, and the said contract therein referred to is hereby declared to be and become wholly inoperative , cancelled and rescinded upon the completion of the work and labor and the performance of the conditions on said Slick's part to be performed, contained in said offer. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, March 4th, 1920, at 9 A.M. Two of the members of the said Board be- ing present Messrs. Taylor, and Pelts , absent Mr. Gilbert, the following proceedings were had to-wit :- The Clerk presented to the Board the complaints from Council of Monday , March 1st , 1920. The Board received a petition for the vacation of the 1st alley south of South "0" St. from 10th to 11th St. signed by Fred J. McKinney and eleven others. Referred to the Engineer for plans. The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the vacation of the alley lst north of Richmond Ave. , from NV. 7th St. to Sedgwick St. in rear of Lots Nos. 12 to 18 inclusive: Also the alley running north & south between NW. 7th St. and Sedgwick St. in rear of Lots Nos. 19 to 26 in- elusive, all in A. W.' Gregg' s Sub-Div. of the Pleasant Hill Add. under Declaratory Resolution No. 138 - 1920 , no one appearing or remonstrating the Board now takes Final Action on said resolu- ti on the ssthe being confirmed without modification, and the Board orders that a roll be prepared of owners or holders of property and 'all valuable interests therein sought to be taken Thursday, March- 4, 1920. 41 1 or to be injuriously affected , which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected, and the Board in- structed the Clerk to assess benefits to the amount of the cost of the proceedings. The Board granted John W. Rethmeyer permission to cultivate Chestnut St. west of 5th St. for the season 1920. The Board instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids for 500 ft. I/ of 22 inch cotton rubber lined hose for the Fire Dept. The Board then adjourned. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday , March 8, 1920, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were had to- wit : - The Board approved the kri nary Assessment Roll of Benefits & Dam- ages in the matter of the vacati on of the alley first north of Richmond Ave. from N'V. 7th St. to Sedgwick St. , also the alley run- ning north and south between N.W. 7th St.&Sedgwi-ck St . all in A.W. Gregg' s Sub-Div. of the Pleasant Hill Add. , under Declaratory ?peso. #138-1920 . The Board fixed the 22nd day of March, 1920 , as the day of hearing against said assessment. The Board unanimously adopted a resolution to improve the interior of the City Bldg. by cleaning, painting walls and ceilings , and varnishing woodwork of the entire second floor, also entire first floor excepting the Fire Dept. down stairs , and instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids. , _ The Board received bids for Tarvia "B`T or its equal as follows : The Barrett Company bid: Tarvia "B" per gallon F.O.B . Richmond , Indiana 0.111 This delivered price is based on existing freight rates. If the rate of freight is advanced the prices are to be advanced accordingly.
