Regular Meeting
DATE: September 11, 1978 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board was present
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were
present.
L. Robinson made a motion to approve minutes as printed. Seconded by D. Rife.
Motion declared carried.
Dale Tasharski, representative of Plainfield High School Student Council, was
present requesting permission to have a bonfire at the-rear of school prgperty,
September 29th at 10:00 p.m. during Homecoming weekend. Permission was
granted however this is to be under the supervision of the Fire Department.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 921, "An Ordinance Banning Parking
At Certain Places Within The Village", Chapter 9, Article 9, Section 9-2-51
of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by D.
Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye;
Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 922, "An Ordinance Banning Parking
At Certain Places Within The Village", Chapter 9, Article 9, Section 9-2-45
thru 9-2-50 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded
by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King,
aye; Rife,. aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 923, "An Ordinance Setting Two
Hour Parking Time Limit On Certain Parts Of Chicago And Fox River Streets
(Amending Chapter 9, Article 9, Section 9-1-14 of the Codified Ordinances Of
The Village Of Plainfield). Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
At 8:00 p.m. the following bide was opened for Van Dyke Road Tmpr®vem~~t~
Crown-Trygg Corporation
Joliet, Illinois
D. Rife made a motion to accept the bid
declared carried.
Cashier"s Check $2,500.00
Total Bid: $24,016.22
Seconded by J. King. Motion
G. Ansley made a motion to award the bid to Crown-Trygg Corporation for
$24,016.22 with the provision that Trinity Midwest Corporation agrees to
the bid. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm,

J. D'Arcy made a motion to authorize a Resolution be drafted to grant
Wadsworth Company and Utility .Concrete Products Company certain .rights
within the confines of their respective easements. Seconded by D. Rife.

aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to permit H. Countryman to attend a one day
seminar for Sludge Control. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll Call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye.
Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to provide $250.00 toward the .purchase of Civil
Defense radio equipment to replace that damaged by lightnilzg. Seconded by
D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahrn, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King,
aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to approve payment of $27,18.00 to Crown~Trygg Corp.
for Commercial and Fox River Street Improvements. Seconded by J. King.

aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve entering into a contract with Vulcan
Basement Waterproofing Company for waterproofing basement of Village Ha11.
Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy,
aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion
declared Carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Di Ann Manson as a CETA dispatcher to replace
Delores Powers. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm,
aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to purchase a Casette System "Getting Grants" at a cost
of $129.00. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to have Employees 'Vacation Forms printed. Seconded by
L. Robinson. Motion declared carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to advertise for bids for gas & oil for Village vehicles
the same as last year with bids to be opened October 2, 197$. Seconded by
D.Rife. Motion declared carried.
