Regular Meeting
August 7, 1978
AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President R. Selfridge, Trustees, G. Ansley,
J. D'Arcy, J. King, ~. Rife, L. Robinson were
present. Trustee G. Beahm was absent.
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. Trustee G. Beahm was absent.
G. Ansley made a motian to approve minutes of July 13 and July 24, 1978
as printed. Seconded by J. King. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to accept recommendation of Plan Commission to
deny petition of Frederick Martens rezoning of property at 819 Division St.
from Res. A to Res. A-1 (Case No. 57-62778Z). Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by
roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye.
Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
At 8:00 p.m. the following bids were opened and read for Sanitary Sewer
and Water Main Extensions, Trinity Midwest Corporation:

G. Ansley made a motion t^ accept the bids. Seconded by D. Rife. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept the low bid of Bada Construction Company
in the amount of $199,795.60. Seconded by D. Rite. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
The following bids were opened and read for Sidewalk on Eastern Avenue from
E.J. & E. Railway Tracks to North property line of Indian Trail Junior High
School:

carried.
Seconded by G. Ansley. Motion declared
D. Rife made a motion to accept the bid of John's Blacktop & Seal Coating
in the amount of $2,100.20. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept the Plan Commission Report. Seconded by
J. King. Motion declared carried.
Harry Heuman, Director, Will County Regional Planning Commission, was present
to outline funding policies of the 701 Program.
D. Rife made a motion to authorize Clerk to pay utility invoices prior to due
date to avoid late payment penalty. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to grant the request of the Plainfield Junior Cats for
tag days September 15 and 16, 1978. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Motion declared
carried.
The Village Clerk was instructed to send a confirming letter to the .Tumor
Cats with the stipulation that no soliciting shall be allowed in the street.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to authorize Bada Construction to move three fire
hydrants on Indian Boundary Road at a cost of $300.00 each. 5ecanded by
D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife,
aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
On motion meeting adjourned to an Executive Session to discuss personnel at
x:35 p.m.
