PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Public Hearing

AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS pF BOARD PRESENT: President Pro-tem G. Ansley, Trustees, G. Beahm,
J. D'Arcy, J. Icing, D. Rife were present.
President R. Selfridge and Trustee L. Robinson
were absent.
President Pro-tem G. Ansley called the Public Hearing on the Appropriation
Ordinance to order. Roll call was taken. A quorum was declared present.
President Pxo,tem G. Ansley announced the tentative Appropriation Ordinance
has been available for public inspection for over ten days prior to tonight's
meeting and that notice of availab~_lity on the tentat~:ve Ordia~ance.:was
published in THE ENTERPRISE on June 28, 1978 and Ju1~r 5,19.78.
Na comments or discussion were heard from the public. The public hearing
on the tentative Appropriation Ordinance was declared closed.
President Pro-tem G. Ansley called the regular Board meeting to order.
Roll call was taken. President Selfridge and Trustee L. Robinson were
absent.
D. Rife made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 919, "An Ordinance Making
Appropriations For The Village Of Plainfield For The Fiscal Year Beginning
July 1, 1978", Chapter ll, Article III Section 3-21 of the Codified
Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by ,1. D'Arcy'. Vote by
roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye.
Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President Pro-tem Ansley announced a public hearing was conducted prior
to the opening of this night's meeting. The tentative Appropriation
prdnance was available for public inspection for over ten days prior to
this night's meeting and a notice of the availability of the tentative
Appropriation Ordinance was published in THE ENTERPRISE June 2$, 1978 and

J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve minutes of June 5 and June 19 as corrected.
Seconded by G. Beahm. Motion declared carried.
,J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve installation of two phone instruments
as extensions of 436-6922 in Clerk's Office and computer room. Seconded

Icing, aye,• Rife, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to approve the installation of two storm doors at
the sax~}pling station at a cost of $~k15.00. Seconded by D. Rife.. Vote by
roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye.

J. D'Arcy made a motion to secure bids for sidewalks fxom railroad tracks
to Indian Trail Junior High School. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll
call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye. Five
ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to pay the Kale Uniform bill and reimburse the
auxiliary police for uniforms. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye. Five ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to reimburse police personnel for range fees in the
total amount of $43.00. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye. .Five ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to send two Police officers to Traffic Work Shop at
a cost of $30.00 per person. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, .aye; Rife, aye. Five ayes,
no nays. Mohan declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 917, "An Ordinance Amending
Chapter 9, Article 12, Section 12-8 of the Codified Ordinances of the
Village of Plainfield". Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye. Five ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
President Pro-tem appointed Ann Hintze to the Pre Annexation Committee.
G. Beahm made a motion to approve the appointment of Ann Hintze to the
Pre Annexation Committee. Seconded by J. King. Motion declared carried.
It was announced the next Village Board meeting will be held Monday,
July 24, 197$.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to advertise for bids for water & sewer extensions
to Trinity Midwest Corporation. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye. Five ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 91$, "An Ordinance Authorizing
The Issuance Of Tax Anticipation Warrants In Anticipation Of The Collection
Of Library Taxes Levied For The Year 1977 For General Library Purposes",
Chapter 1~.Article ~ Section 5=4 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village
of Plainfield. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;
Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye.; Rife, aye. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve granting occupancy permits fvr lots

D. Rife made a motion to pass a Resolution authorizing the Plainfiel Free
Public Library to purchase property at 709 lllinais Street providing they
have sufficient funds and assumes full responsib~.lity for payment and
expenses. Seconded by .J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D~Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
On motion :meeting adjourned at $:25 p.m. to an Executive Session to discuss
personnel.
