Regular Meeting
DATE: March 20, 1978.
AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees, G. Ansley,
G. Beahm, J. D'Arcy, J. King. L. Robinson
were present. Trustee D. Rife was absent
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. Trustee D. Rife was absent.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve current invoices for payment as
presented. Seconded by. G. Beahm.' Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;
Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
The Treasurer's Report was submitted.
G. Ansley made a motion to send letters to Schaal District, Township
and Park District far donations in the amount of $1,500 each for the
1978 Planning Fund. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King,. aye; Robinson, aye. Five
ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to have Civil Defense form a Committee to :set
up Hazardous Materials Program. Seconded by G. Beahm. Motion declared
carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Andru Vanderlei as a part time dispatcher
to cover voids and vacations at $3.00 per hour. Seconded by G. Ansley.
Vote by roll call. Ansley, aye.;. Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion .to pass Ordinance Na. 905, "An Ordinance Regarding
Termination Of The Terms Of The Plan Commission", Chapter 7, Article 1
of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by
J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge appointed the following to the Plan Commission:
Arlo Simmons, Chairman for a term of three years. Herbert Bayer, Vice-
Chairman for a term of three years. Ja~naes Andexson for a term of three
years.. Albert Longnecker for a term of two years. Donald Pearson for
a term of two years. Arthur Bruesewitz for a term of one year. Richard
Myers for a term of one year.

G. Beahm made a motion to approve appointments to Plan Commission. Seconded
by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
Ring, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 906, "An Ordinance Amending
Ordinance No. 84~ Regarding Composition Of The Plan Commission And
Providing For Its Organization And Duties And Members' Terms And
Compensation," Chapter 7, Article 1 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Plainfield. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm,
aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to accept Plan Commission Report. Seconded by
G. Ansley. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve annual.dariation of $105.00 to Northeastern
Illinois Planning Commission. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to accept Plan Commission recommendation to approve
Preliminary Plat, River Ridge Estates, subject to canditions outlined.
Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm. aye; D'Arcy,
aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye. Five ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
On motion meeting adjourned to an Executive Session at 8:30 p.m. to discuss
personnel and .reconvene thereafter.
President Selfridge opened the adjourned meeting at 9:30 p.m..
Tt was announced a study session would be held Wednesday, March 29, 1978 at
7:00 p.m. relative to Plainfield North.
J. King made a motion to close Village Offices Saturday, March 25, 1978 far
Easter weekend. Seconded by G. Beahm. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to hire Margaret Ansley part time for Water Department
at $3.25 per hour. Seconded by G. .Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, Pass,(nay)
Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Robinson,. aye. Faur ayes, one pass (nay).
Motion declared carried.
