Regular Meeting
DATE: March 6, 1978 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board Present
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. At roll call Trustee J. D'Arcy
was absent and arrived at 7:40 p.m.
D. Rife made a oration to rescind.hs.mbtion af•February 6,,19Z8,tp
approve Arlo Simmons appointment as Chairman, Zoning Board of Appeals.
Seconded by G. Beahm.
D. Rife made a oration to approve appointment of Arla Simmons as Chairman
Zoning Board of Appeals for a term February 6 to May 1, 1978. Seconded
by G. Beahm. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to approve minutes of meetings February b and
February 20, 1978 as printed. Seconded by L. Robinson. Motion declared
carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to accept and approve Tornado and Severe Weather
Plan. Seconded by G. Beahm. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Bonnie Atkins Cooper as full time Dispatcher
under CRTA Program replacing Nancy Douglass effective March 6, 197$ at
$3.00 per hour. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye,
Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to authorize sending two auxiliary police officers
to Firearms Schaal at $36.50 each, a total of $73.00. Seconded by D. Rife.
Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye;
Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 903, "An Ordinance To Amend
The Subdivision Control Ordinance," Ghapter7, Article 3 (Ordinance No. 795)
of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by D. Rife.
Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye;
Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 904, "An Ordinance Amending
Chapter 7, Article 5, Section 5-2-1-12 (Ordinance No. 89$ - Electrical Code)
of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by L. Robinson.

G. Ansley made a motion to approve recommendation of Plan Commission
to deny rezoning petition of Llayd and Sharon Hull, 306 Union Street,
from Residence A to Residence A-1 (ease No. 49-112277Z). Seconded by
J. D'Arcy. Vote by tall call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to subscribe to ZONING AND PLANNING LAW for
Plan Commission Secretary at a cost of $55.00 per year. Seconded by
J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared'
carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to authorize Village Clerk to attend Municipal
Clerk's of Illinois Seminar, Bloomington, Illinois, March 17 and 18, 1978.
Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by tall call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy,
aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve payment of Village Auto Service invoice
in the amount of $543.35. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley,
aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six
ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 904, "An Ordinance Amending
Chapter 7, Article 5, Section 5-2-1-12" (Electrical Code). Seconded by
D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King,
aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to appeal the action of the Zoning Board of Appeals
concerning Case No. 47-91377V,Robert Pottorff petition for variance, 602
Dillman Street. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye;
Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, nay; Robinson, aye. Five ayes,
one nay. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve the addition of $50,000 to Treasurer's
Bond increasing to make a total of $100,000.00. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote
by tall call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye;
Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
