The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, .Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, Dec.11,
- 1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings
were had to-wit : -
The Board meets to hear remonstrances and take final action on
Declaratory Resolution_ #137-1919 to widen South "B" Street on
the north side from South 16th Street east t o the west line of
Lot 52, Reeveston Addition. No one appearing and no remonstrance
having been filed against said proposed widening thereupon being
fully advised in the matter the Board takes Final Action on said
resolution confirming without modification all former action
taken on same, and the Board now or•deres that a list or roll be
prepared of all owners or holders of property, and all valuable
interests therein sought to be taken or to b e injuriously affect-
- ed, which list or roll shall also describe the property benefici-
ally affected .
The Board approved the Contract & Bond signed by John 3wissler as
principal , and the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Co. as sure-
ty in the matter of installing a gasoline, oil, & air dispenser
infront of his place of business at #28 South 5th Street. ( See
Contract & Bond.
Mr. Peitz informed the Board that the Mutual Fire Insurance Co.
agreed to donate to the City the furniture, and stove on the 2nd
floor at r4 Hose House providing that it will be left there so
that the hall can be used for public meetings. Mr. Peitz moved
that the donation be accepted, and the Clerk instructed to write
J. Henry Bode, Seery of the insurance company thanking him for
their generosity. Motion prevailed.
Mr. Gilbert moved that the bill of F. B. Slick, trash contractor,
for 4 1249.16 for the month of Nov. 1919 be allowed and ordered
- paid, Seconded by Mr. Pel: tz motion prevailed.

Mr. Gilbert moved that the janitor consult Mr. Miller, Fire
Chief, relative to the heating plant of the City Bldg. , and
also to fill, trim, and light the red lanterns for the Right
& Left Signs , and to consult Mr. McNally as to what hour they
are to be lighted. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed.
The Board took up the matter in regard to the petition of Chas.
H. Sell, et' al , for the improvement of a highway commencing
at the intersection of the Commons Road with West 5th Street in
the City of Richmond, Indiana, and adopted the following reso-
lution to-wit :-
R E S O L U T I O N . I/
WHEREAS', A petition signed by more than fifty (50) resi-
dent freeholders and voters of Wayne Township; Wayne County,.
Indiana, has been addressed tothe Board of Commissioners of
Wayne County, Indiana., and filed in the office of the Auditor
of said Wayne County, Indiana, praying that a certain public
highway in said Wayne Township, described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the Commons Road and the Union
Pike ; thence west along the Commons Road a distance of one mile
to the point where the Commons Road intersects with East Haven
Avenue; thence northwardly along East Haven Avenue to the inters '
section of the same with a highway designated as Indiana Drive,
and formerly known as Asylum Avenue ; thence eastwardly along
Indiana Drive a distance of approximately one mile to the Union
Pike; the entire length of said road being .approximately two and
three-eighths ( 2-3/8 ) miles , and all of said highway being in
Section Thirty-one ( 31) , Township Fourteen ( 14) , north, Range
One ( 1 ) west , Wayne Township, Wayne County, Indiana,
shall be improved under the provisions of the Three Mile Road
Law by grading, draining, changing and widening said highway
where necessary, and paving the same with concrete; And,
WHEREAS, A part of said highway is within the corporate
limits of the City of Richmond, and the said Board of Commiss-
ioners has no authority to improve the same in so much thereof
as is within the corporate boundaries of said City without the
consent being first obtained from the Board of Wrrks of said City
so to do ;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Works of the City
of Richmond that, consent, authority and permission is hereby given
to the Board of Commissioners of Wayne County , Indiana , to improve
that part of said highway petitioned for within the corporate
limits of said city of Richmond , the same to be done as peti.tion-
ed for , or as finally ordered by said Board of Commissioners , pro
vided, however, that the established width and grade of said high I/
way inside of said city shall be in conformity with the width
and grade of the streets forming a part of said highway as al-
ready established.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT a certified cony of this reso-
lution be prepared by the Clerk of said City of -lichmond, and •
filed in the office of th.e County Auditor of Wayne County, Ind-

in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, Dec. 15,
1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs . Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz, the following proceedings
were had to-wit :-
The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of the vacation of the alley 1stnorth of
Richmond Avenue from the east line of lot 52 to the west line of
lot 59 under Declaratory Resolution #130-1919. No one remonstrat-
ing the Board approved the Final Assessment roll of benefits E:
damages confirming in all things the original assessment roll here-
tofore approved and thereupon declare said rorti. on of said alley
above designated vacated, and now direct that a copy of said ass-
I/ essment roll be forthwith transmitted to the department of Finance,

mond Ave, under Declaratory Resolution #131-1o19. No one remon-
strating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll of bens fits
damages confirming in all things the original assessment roll
heretofore approved , and thereupon declare said portion of said
alley above designated vacated, and now direct that a copy of said
