Continuation of June 16, 1980 meeting

MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees, J. D'Arcy, J. Graham,
L. Robinson and C. Smith. G. Ansley and J. King were
absent.
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
J, D'Arcy made a motion to accept receipt of the street maintenance bids that
were opened at 11:p0 a.m. June 24, 1980 by the Village Engineer, Gene Gordon,
Charles Smith, Street Chairman and Shirley Yates, Village Clerk. Seconded by
J. Graham. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; Robinson, aye; and
Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.

C. Smith made a motion to award the street maintenance bid to Delta Construction Co.

and Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion for the opening of bids for the sludge drying beds July 7,
1980. Seconded by C. Smith, Vate by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; Robinson,
aye; and Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion for the Mayor and Village Clerk to execute and sign the
contracts with Craftsmen Tank Service far painting of the Mills St. water tower
in the amount of $22,600.00. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: b'Arcy,
aye; Graham, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
C. Smith made a motion to submit $2,850.00 to Baish Construction Company for
sidewalk replacement. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 4 ayes, na nays. Motion declared
carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to adopt Ordinance #981 - An Ordinance correcting typo-
graphical error in Ordinance No. 977. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call:
D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.

President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag.
Roll call was taken. G. Ansley was absent.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve current invoices far payment. Seconded by
J. Graham. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to contribute $15.00 to the City of Joliet far their
34th. annual 1980 Joliet July 4 Celebration. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote
by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith,
aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion dealared carried.
J. King made a motion to approve the April Treasurer's report. Seconded by
C. Smith. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the Plan Commission report.
Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Matson declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the report of the Zoning
Board of Appeals. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. Graham made a motion to accept recommendation from the Zoning Board of
Appeals to adopt an Ordinance granting a size of sign variation to 80 scguare
feet at 306 Joliet Rd. Secanded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graha, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, na nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #977 - Chapter 9, Article 4, An Ordinance
prohibiting left turns on Division St. at Illinois Route 126. Secanded by L.
Robinson. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Madan declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #978 - Chapter 9, Article 4, An Ordinance
to amend Chapter 9, Article 4, Section 4-~1-3 (a) inserting at the end thereof the
fallowing: Old Indian Boundary Line Road traffic at Willow Drive East. Seconded
by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #979 - Chapter 4, Article 12, Cigarette
and tobacco dealers. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to table Case Na. 70-21379PP, Report of the Plan Commission,
Bada Commercial Park till ,Tune 24, 1980. Secanded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call:

J. King made a motion for Thomas Deering to attend the International Auto Theft
Seminar, Aug. 3 through Aug. 8, 1980 at Arlington Heights, Illinois in the amount
of $235.00. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
J. King made a motion to approve the annual renewal fee of $25.00 for the
Explorer Past. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion for each full time Police Officer a uniform allowance
of $150.00 per year effective July 1, 1980. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote
by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and
Smith, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt the Police Canine Program as presented.

declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to adopt Ordinance #980 - Chapter 11, Article 111,
Section 3-25; An Ordinance making appropriations for the Village of Plainfield
for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1980. Seconded by J. King. Vote by
roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith,
aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. Graham made a motion to reimburse ESDA in the amount of $168.35 for the
purchase of Dispatcher uniforms. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call:
D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; and Smith, aye. 5 ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
