Mon. Dec. 1, 1919.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, Dec. 1st,
1919, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz, the following proceedings
were had to-wit :-
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits &
Damages in the matter of the vacation of the 1st alley north of
Richmond Ave. from the east line of lot 52 to the west line of
lot 59 , A. W. Gregg' s Sub-Div. under Declaratory Ress luti on l30® I/
1919. The Board fixed the 15th day of December, 1919 as the day
of hearing against said assessment.
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of benefits and
damages in the matter of the vacation of the alley running N. &
S. between NW. 8th St. & Sedgwick St. from the 1st alley S. of
- Chestnut St. to 1st alley N. of Richmond Ave . , A. W. Gregg' s
Sub-Div. under Declaratory Resolution #131-1919. The Board fix-
ed the 15th day of December, 1919 as the day of hearing against
- said assessment.
- The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits and
Damages in the matter of the vacation of the 1st alley running
north & south, west of, north-west 8th st. from Richmond Ave. to
Chestnut St . , A.W.Gregg' s Sub-Div of Pleasant Hill Add. under
Declaratory Resolution #132-1919. The Board fixed the 15th day
of December, 1919 as the day of hearing against said assessment .
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits and
Damages in the matter of the vacation of the 1st alley running
east and west 1st south of Chestnut St. from NW. 7th St . to west
line of lots No. 63 & 67, A.W.Gregg' s Sub-Div. under Declaratory
- Resolution #133-1919. The Board fixed the 15th day of December
1919 as the day of hearing against said assessment .
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits and
Damages in the natter of the vacation of a portion of NW. 7th St.
from the north line of Chestnut St. to the South 1Ine of Right
of Way of the P.C.C. & St. L. Railroad, Indianapolis Div. under
Declaratory Resolution #134-1919. The Board fixed the 15th day
of December, 1919 , as the day of hearing against said assessment .
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits and
Damages in the matter of the vac ?ti on of NW. 8th St. from the N.
line of Richmond Ave. to the south line of Chestnut St. under
Declaratory Resolution #135-1919. The Board fixed the 15th day
of December, 1919 , as the day of hearing against said assess-
ment.
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll of Benefits and
Damages in the matter of the vacation of Chestnut St. from the
west line of NW. 7th St. to the west line of the alley running
north and south 1st west of NW. 8th St . under Declaratory Reso-
lution #136-1919. The Board fixed the 15th day of December,
1919, as the day of hearing against said assessment .

The Board instructed Wm. Hunt, market master, to have Wm. ,Ward re-
pair the City Scales.
Mr. Bentley, Supt. of Public Schools, appeared before the Board
requesting that "go slow" signs be placed at the approaches to
the public schools. On motion of Mr. Peitz the City Engineer was
instructed to get an estimate on such signs.
1/ The Board instructed the Bldg. Inspector to have the roof of the
Crematory repaired, also to have windows in the basement of the
City Bldg. covered with metal sheeting.
Mr. Peitz moved that It_Rr. Rodefeld, City Attorney Byram Robbins,
and Mr. Gardner of the City Planning Commission by notified to ap-
pear before the Board at 9 : 30 A.M. Thursday, December 4th to take
up property matter. Seconded by Mr. Gilbert.
The Board granted Katherine Forrester of #126 Randolph St . the
privilege of gardening space along 1st St. opposite alley between
Lincoln & Pearl Streets, also Frank Treep the same privilege of
lots 6 to 14 inclu . ve, Ft. Wayne Bub-Div. for the season of 1920.
The Board then adjourned.

The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session. in the office of said Board Thursday, Dec. 4,
1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and. Peitz , the following proceedings
were had to-wit : -

The Clerk presented the complaints from Council Monday, Dec. 1st!
The Board referred the matter of the electric wire to Mr. Dillon
and of the trash to Mr. Wessel.
Pursuant to postponement to this date the Board meets to hear re-
monstrances and take final action on Declaratory Resolution #129-
1919 to open and extend South 5th St. from S."n" to S."I". Mr.
Davis City Engineer, informed the Board that Mr. B.A.Kennepohl of
the S.S. I.A. requested that the hearing be postponed a month . Mr.
