The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, Novem- ber 20, 1919 , at 9 A.M. Two members of the Board being present • Messrs. Taylor, and Peitz , absent Mr. Gilbert, the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit :- - The Clerk presented to the Board the complaints from Council of 1/ November 17th which the Board referred to the City Engineer. The Board received the following communication: • November 18, 1919. Pres. Board of Public Works. Dear Sir: We have been making castings for the City of Richmond for some time, at a price prevailing a good while ago, notwithstand- ing the excessive cost and the great increase in material as well as labor. ' We find therefore that in the future it is not - possible for us to continue making castings at the old price,and therefore from now on, any castings furnished the City would be at Seven ( 7 ) Cents ($ .07 ) per pound instead of the price as here- tofore. The Board grnated Himes Bros. permission to lay under private con- tract a water line, and cut into concrete pavement infront of Real Estate #109 South 6th Street, all work to be done at the pe- titioner' s expense and in accordance with the standard specifica- tions for such work subject to the inspection of the City Eng. A request was received by the Board- from the S.S.I.A. for the use of the hall above the #4 Hose House, Monday , evening, Nov. 24th. The request was granted. Mr. Peltz moved that the Police Dept. be instructed to notify Mr. Edward Timberlake of #603 S. 13th St. to clean up his alley at • rear of his place within 5 days from date of receipt of notice. - Motion prevailed. Bills to the amount of 012,914.66 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls up to November 16th, 1919. The Board then adjourned.
