MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: Complete Board Present
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board
were present.
J. D'Arcy, Trustee Public Relations Cammittee,presented certificates
to participating students, Student Government Day.
J: D'Arcy made a motion to send a letter to the High School and Ms. Phyllis
Yahnke thanking them for their assistance in planning Student Gavernment Day.
Seconded by D. Rife. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve payment of current invoices With the
exception of Morton Salt Company. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye;. Beahm, aye; King, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye.
Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
The Treasurer's Report was submitted.
D. Rife made a motion to leave Civil Defense building, Desplaines Street,
stand until the end of March far parking of C. D. vehicles. Seconded by
L. Robinson. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to pass a Resolution honoring Thomas. Sharp for his
service as Deputy Director, Civil Defense. Seconded by L. Robinson. Motion
declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to have Clerk send a letter to Ms. Van Horn asking her
to install sidewalks along Plaza Drive on the south side of her property at
Plainfield Plaza. Seconded by G. Beahm. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a mation to authorize Police Department to install shelves for
display purposes at a cost of $83.78. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll
call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye, King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson,
aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a mation to authorize purchase of new uniforms far Police Chief,
Sergeant, and three full time Officers at a cast of $2,037.20. Seconded by
D. Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye;
Rife, aye; Robinson, nay. Five ayes, one nay. Motion declared carried.

D. Rife made a matian to authorize purchase of leather goods for Police
Department Chief, Sergeant and three full time ..Officers at a cost of
$799.00 and two Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum weapons $146.00 each. Seconded
by J. King. Vote by roll call: Ansley,aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King,
aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to authorize Police Chief salary at $19.000.00 per yr.
effective November 14, 1977. Seconded by D. Rife. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye;, Robinson, aye.
Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to award bid for gas, oil and servicing for Village
vehicles to Allan Hall with Ethyl 7;1.9 cents.:per gal., lead free, 69.9 and
regular 66.9. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm,
aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to approve appointment of Richard Hines, President/Vice
President and David Manley, Secretary to Police Pension Board. Seconded by
J. King. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to prepare specs for letting of bid for new
computer for Village Hall. Secanded by D. Rife. Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to approve appointment of Harry Buehl, Thomas Mefferd
and Arlo Simmons to 911 Plan (emergency phone number). Seconded by L. Robinson.
Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to "opt out" of Urban County Community Development
Block Grants Program. Seconded by J. King. Motion declared carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to rescind motion to pay $1,200.00 to Golden Larch
Landscape Associates instead to. pay $850.00 plus $350.00 donation check
from McLaughlin Mfg. Co. for partial payment for flagstone, Village Hall.
Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy,
aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
G. Beahm made a motion to include $15.00 as Christmas gift to full time
employees in December 15th paycheck. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six !.
ayes, .no nays.... Motion declared carried.
