HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-16-1919 370 Monday , October 13, 1919 . 1, The Board decided to charge '18.00 per month rent for the house belonging to the City at the North 10th St. Park. The Board received bids on Auto Tires from various agents in the City representing different tire companies. After careful consideration Mr. Peitz moved that as the bid of Team. Bee was the most satisfactory for the City to purchase tires from him the coming year. Motion prevailed. The Board authorized Mr. Dillon, Supt. of the Light Plant to place an Arc Light at the North Intersection of 16th & Main St. I/ The Board then adjourned. Pres. of the Board. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, Oct . 16 , 1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peitz the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit :- The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of the contract under Improvement Resolution i�o. 571-1919 for sewer in the 1st alley running east and west , north of S."E" St. between South 6th & 7th. Ste. running from South 6th St. sewer east in said al- ley to the alley running north & south between S. 6th & 7th Ste. on motion the Board accepted same , and ordered an assessment roll prepared. The Board approved and signed a lease for lot 7r7 , •in the NE. Quarter of Section 32, Township 14, Range 1 west , situate on Newman' s hill in the Cite of Richmond, Indiana, tenancy here- under is to commence on the 16th day of October, 1919 to Pinley Leaven of said City for the consideration of 25.00 for I/ one ( 1) year. (See Lease) . The Board granted the Atlas Underwear Co. permission to lay un- der private contract a conduit across Elm Place and under side- walk infront of property 304-305-306 E. Starr' s Add. subject to the inspection and approval of the City Engineer. • Thursday, October 16, 1919 . 37 The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily Assessed on account of the Vacation, of the 1st alley east of F. 5th St. running north & south from N. . "D" St. to\the 1st alley run- ning east and west south of N. "D" St. between Lots 36 E& 37 , John Iden' s Add. under Declaratory Resolution ITo. 128-1919 . No one re- • monstrating the Board approved the Final Assessment atoll of Rene- ' fits & Damages confirming in all things the Original Assessment Roll heretofore approved and thereupon declare said portion of said alley vacated, and now direct that a copy of said assessment roll be forthwith transmitted to the Dept . of Finance. I/ The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily Assessed on account of the Vacation of Hand.clph St. from N . 1st St. to the vest line of proposed opening of Randolph Street under F i Declaratory Resolution 124-1919 . No one remonstrating the Board approved the Final Assessment Roll of Benefits & Damages confirming in all things the. Original Assessment Roll heretofore approved, and thereupon declare said portion of said street vacated, and now di- rect that a copy of said assessment roll be forthwith transmitted • to the Dept . of Finance. The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any of persons Primarily assessed on account of the opening, widening, and extending of Randolph Street from NV 1st Street to Richmond Avenue under Decla- ratory Resolution 0126-1919 . After hearing all persons who appear- ed and a remonstracne having been filed by Howard & Lillie Long- fellow against the assessment of Damages on lot #14, Anna Madden' s Sub-Div. Mr. Peitz moved that the hearing be continued until Mon- day October 20th, 1919 , at 9 A.M. Motion prevailed. _ The Board on motion instructed hr. Dillon, Supt . of the Light Plant to enter into a purchase agreement with the Richmond Electric 'Co. for light bulbs for the various City Depts. , and the Tight Plant for the coming year.
