Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, reported to the Board that Elmer Longstreth
has handed in his resignation to take effect October 15th.. On mo-
tion the Board accepted same.
The Board then adjourned.

The Board of PublicWorks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session in the office of said Board Monday, October' 13, 1919
at 9 A. Z. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs.
Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz the following proceedings were had to-wit
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of con-
structing a sewer in South "E" Street , and alley between South 4th
5th Streets under Improvement Resolution #566-1919 .
The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of the
improvement of both sides of South 9th St . by constructing a cement
sidewalk from South "H" to South "Z"' Street under Improvement Reso-
lution #568-1919 .
The Board granted permission to Henry M. Kendric, and Leo Jack to
cut a 15' ft driveway in the curb at the corner of SW "A" & 9th St .
at 28 Creston Add. Subject to the inspection and approval of the
City Civil Engineer.
The Board received a petition for the improvement of Na 8th Street
from Richmond Avenue to Peacock Road by constructing a cement side-
walk, and cement curb & gutter on both sides of said street, and
I/ raving the roadway with one of the following kinds of pavement to-
wit : Brick Concrete - Asphalt or wood block, signed by Daniel D.
Smith and four others. Referred to the City Engineer.
The Board granted, the 20th Century Tire Company permission to place
an Air Station on the curb line on sidewalk infront of #409 Main St .
subject to the inspection and approval of the City Engineer.
Upon the recommendation of Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, the Board appoint
ed Martin Swisher as a fireman on the City Fire Force, his appoint-
ment to go into effect October 16, 1919 .

The Board decided to charge 018.00 per month rent for the
house belonging to the City at the North 10th St. Park.
The Board received bids on Auto Tires from various agents in
the City representing different tire companies. After careful
consideration Mr. Peltz moved that as the bid of Wm. Lee was
the most satisfactory for the City to purchase tires from him
the coming year. Motion prevailed.
The Board authorised Mr. Dillon, Supt . of the Light Plgi t to
place an Arc Light at the North Intersection of 16th & Main St .

The Board of Public ;Forks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday , Oct.
16 , 1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Boardei.n_g
present Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peltz the following pro-
ceedings were had to-wit : -
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of the contract
under Improvement Resolution No. 571-1919 for sewer in the 1st
alley running east and west , north of S."E" St . between South
6th & 7th. Ste. running from South 6th St. sewer east in said al-
ley to the alley running north & south between B. 6th & 7th Ste.
on motion the Board accepted same , and ordered an assessment
roll prepared.
The Board approved and signed a lease for lot -0 , •in the NE.
Quarter of Section 32, Township 14, Range 1 test , situate on
Newman' s Hill in the Oiti of Richmond, Indiana, tenancy here-
under is to commence on the 16th day of October, 1919 ? to
Finley Le.avell of said City for the consideration of ,g5.00 for I/
one ( 1) year. (See Lease ) .
The Board granted the Atlas Underwear Co. permission to lay un-
der private contract a conduit across Elm Place and under side-
walk infront of property 304-305-306 E. Starr' s Add. subject to
the inspection and approval of the City Engineer.
