The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, October _ _ 6th, 1919, at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz the following proceed- ings were had to-wit: - The Board granted Elizabeth Crome permission to cut a 10' ft driveway in the curb infront of #2301 East Main Street under private contract; and the approval of the City Engineer. The Board received a report from the appraisers appointed to appraise the property in the matter of the opening of South 5th St . from South "H" to South "I" Street under Declaratory Reso- lution No. 129-1919 as follows to-wit : Ground $2,500.00 Building $1,000.00 Mr. Peitz moved that am the price of automobile tires is to be advanced 25% that Mr. Gilbert investigate and make contract for City for the coming year. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion pre- vailed. Bills to the amount of 05,997.84 ,_ -w.ere; allowed..-and ,ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls up to Oct. 4th, 1919. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, October 9 , 1919 , at 9 A.M. Two members of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert, and Taylor, absent Mr. Peitz , the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit :- The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of Contract un- der Improvement Resolution #568-1919 providing for the improve- ment of both sides of South 9th Street by constructing cement sidewalk 6' ft wide on both sides of said street, from South "H" to South "B" , on motion the Board accepted same and ordered that an assessment roll be prepared. The Board received a communication from Edward D. McNally, Secty. of the Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners requesting that an appropriation be made for the purchase of a motorcycle for the Police Dept. The Board took this matter under consideration. Thursday, October 9 , 1919 . 369 Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, reported to the Board that Elmer Longstreth has handed in his resignation to take effect October 15th . On mo- tion the Board accepted same. Oct. 13, 1919 . The Beard of Public :orks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday, October` 13, 1919 at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peltz the following proceedings were had to-wit The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of con- structing a sewer in South "E" Street , and alley between South 4th 5th Streets under Improvement Resolution #566-1919 . The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of the improvement of both sides of South 9th St. by constructing a cement sidewalk from South ''PH" to South "L", Street under Improvement Reso- lution #568-1919 . The Board granted permission to Henry M. Kendric, and Leo Jack to cut a 15` f t driveway in :Ole curb at the corner of SW "A" & 9th St. at 28 Creston Add. Subject to the inspection and approval of the City Civil Enineer. The Board received a petition for the improvement of NW 8th Street from Richmond Avenue to Peacock Road by constructing a cem ai t side- walk, and cement curb & gutter on both sides of said street, and I/ paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of pavement to- wit: Brick - Concrete - Asphalt or wood block, signed by Daniel D. Smith and four others. Referred to the City Engineer. The Board granted the 20th Century Tire Company permission to place an Air Station on the curb line on sidewalk infront of #409 Main St subject to the inspection and approval of the City Engineer. Upon the recommendation of Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, the Board appoint ed .Martin Swisher as a fireman on the City Fire Force, his appoint- ment to go into effect October 16, 1919 .
