Mr. Davis, City Engineer, informed the Board that he has em- ployed William Simmons in the engineering dept. which on motion was approved. The Board granted R. J. Behringer permission to lay under private contrast a driveway 12 feet wide infront of lot 8, C. Arno1d' s Addition. on South "C" between. South 8th & 9th Streets subject to the approval of the City Engineer. Bills to the amount of ip4,226.33 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board of Public ';corks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met ' in regular session in the office of said Board Thursday , Sept. 25, 1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peltz the following pro- ceedings were had to-wit : - The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the vacation of the 1st alley east of North 5th St. running north & south from North °'D" St. to the -1st alley running east & west south of North "D" St. under Declaratory Resolution No. 128-1919. No_.one appearing and a remonstrance having been filed Mr. Peitz moved that the hearing be continued until Monday, September 29th , at 9 A.M. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or whose pro- perty is affected by the vacation of Randolph St. more parti.cu- - larly described ( see resolution) under Declaratory Resolution No. 124-1919 . No one appearing and no remonstrance having been filed the Board now takes final action on said Resolution, same being confirmed without modification, and the Board orderes that a roll be prepared ao all owners or holders of property, and all valuable interest therein sought to be taken or to be injurious- ly affected , which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected. The Board fixed the price to be assessed Thursday, September 25, 1919 . 363 as benefits to be Two. (42.00) Dollars per front foot on N. V.r 1st Street . The Board meets to hear remonstrances and take final action on Declaratory Resolution No. 126-1919 for the opening, widening, arid extending of Randolph Street from North-west 1st St. to Richmond. Avenue; No one appearing and no remonstrance -having been filed or I presented to the Board against said proposed opening,-thereupon be- ing fully advised in the matter the Board takes final action on -said resoluti on confi r-ming without modi ficat ion all former action taken on same , and the Board now orders that a list or roll be pre- pared of all owners or holders of property and all valuable inter- est- therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected , which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected . The Board ar>pcinted Messrs. l. m K. Bradbury, Zillard B. Dye , and Charles D. Shideler to appraise the property necessary to condemn - for the opening of South 5th St . from South "H" to South "I" under Declaratory Resolution No. 129-1919 . The Board approves the observance of Fire Prevention Day . The Board of Public Works sitting in its capacity as the Board. of Public Safety, met in the office of said Board Thursday, Sept. - 25th, 1919 . All the members of said Board were present, viz. , Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor and Peitz. The following proceedings were had to-wit : Upon motion duly made and carried the Board ordered and directed that the minutes of its meeting on Monday, September 15th 1919 , be, and they are hereby corrected tor•show, and thereby con- form to the actual facts, that John Coyle appeared before the Board and pleaddguilty- to the charges preferred against him on Thursday , September 11th, 1919 , instead of Monday, September 15th, 1919 , and that the Board took action thereon and removed said John Coyle as a member of the Fire Force of said City upon said charges and plea of guilty thereto , on Monday, September, 15th , 1919 . The minutes of the Board for September 11th , 1919 , and for September 15th , 1919 , are now at this session of the Board corrected of record according- ly, and as so corrected are now read and hereby approved as correct.
