Regular Meeting
DATE: May 16, 1977 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: All members of Board were present
President Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
Pledge to the Flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board
were present.
D. Rife made a motion to accept nominations of Joseph Bennett,
Superintendent - Water & Sewer Department, Helen B. Leidig, Collector
and Thomas Mefferd,' pirector.- Emergency Services and Disaster Agency.
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll ca11: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'.Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve payment of Chobar's gas and oil
bills, Seconded by G~ Beahm. Vote by roll ca11: Ansley, aye; Beahm,
aye; D'Arcy, aye; King; aye, Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
D, Rife made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 888, "An Ordinance
Establishing Four Way Stop lntersectians''', Chapter 9, Article 4,
Section 4~1-4 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield.
Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll ca11: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D~Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rafe, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried,
J. King made a motion to accept Police Policy P4anual with .noted revis.io.ns.
Seconded by D, Rife. Motion declared carried.
The following bids were read for the Spring Clean-up:
A-Way Disposal Service r $2,300.00

Tony Tomich and Sans, Inc. - $2,950.00
192G N. Oakland Ave., Joliet
G. Ansley ..made a motion to accept the low bid of A-Way Disposal Service
far the Spring C1ean~up on June 10, 1977 at $2,300.00. Seconded by G.
Beahm. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D'Arcy, aye; King,
aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.

VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING May 1.6, 1.977
J. King made a motion to approve audit for fiscal year ending June 30,
1976. Seconded by D, Rife. Vote by roll call: Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. D°Arcy made a motion to have Clerk advertise for bids for water main
extension and extension of Penn Road in Country Manors Subdivision, Lots
20 thru 24. Seconded by G. Beahm. Vote by roll ca1l:Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye. Six ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
D. Rife made a motion to appropriate $32,000.00 from Motor Fuel Tax funds
for the following streetst Eastern Avenue, Oak Street;. Lockport Street,
Ash Street and Maple Court, Seconded by J. D°Arcy. Vote by roll call:
Ansley, aye; Beahm, aye; D"Arty, aye; King, aye; Rife, aye; Robinson, aye.
Six ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to let bids far gas and oil for Village Vehicles
by July 1, .1977. Seconded by D. Rife. Motion declared carried.
