The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board Thursday, September 4, 1919, at 9 A.M. Two members of the said Board being. present Messrs. Taylor, and Peltz , absent Mr. Gilbert, the following pro- ceedings were had , to-wit :- - - The Board received and approved the dedication to the City of Rich- mond, Indiana, the piece of ground for the widening of alley in re- I/ ar of Lot No. 36, John Iden' s Add. , dedicated by Forest Monger. The Board received and approved the dedication to the City of Rich- - mond, Indiana, the piece of ground for the opening and extention of -an alley in the rear of Lot No. 11, Anna Madden' s Sub-Div. to the City,, dedicated by Albert W. Gregg. The Board received a communication from the Starr Piano Co. in re- ference to the repairing of South lst Street. The Board decided to look into the matter. • The Clerk reported the complaints from the Common Council of Tues. Sept. 2nd, and the Clerk was instructed to notify the C. & O. R. R. officials to have the conductor pipe on the South 5th St. Bridge re- paired at once. The Board granted Jerry Miller permission to lay under private con- tract a cement coping sidewalk infront of #309 South 9th Street ac- cording to specifications for such work, and approval of the City Engineer. The Board approved and signed the Contract & Bond of Daniel G. Burkhardt, contractor, under Improvement Resolution No. 570-1919. _ The. Clerk reported to the. Board the passage of an ordinance author- izing the improvement of South 4th St. & Ft. Wayne Ave. from South "A" to North "D" Street as provided for by Improvement Resolution No. 569-1919. On motion the Board decided that owing to its being so late in the season not to advertise for bids until the early spring. The Clerk was instructed to notify Chas. Skillen of 18 South 6th St. to have the weeds out at once on his lot next to 429 South 6th St. The Clerk was instructed to notify Fred H. Lemon to cease polluting the lake in Glen Miller Park with soot from the steam blower at. his Greenhouse. The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Moore of 307 North 13th St. to remove the dirt from the alley at the rear of his lot left there from the excavation made for the building of his garage.
