The Board received a communication from the Public Protective
League, 620-21 Indi era Pythian Bldg. , Indianapolis , Indiana, . (See
_ letter on file ) .
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Supt. of the D.C.C. & St. L.
Co. to have the weeds and un:ier brush cut along their right-of--
_ way between the river and Sheridan st. especially at Sheridan Street
viaduct .
His Honor the Mayor informed the Board that Dr. Kinsey had tendered
his resignation as Health Officer v.h_ich Yie accepted, and stated that

he had reinstated Dr. George B. Hunt who recently returned from Over
Seas Service .
The Board then adjourned.

The Board unanimously a.d.cpted. Declaratory 'Resolution J o. 126-1919
for the vacation_of the alley running north and south let east of
North 5th St. from north MD" to the 1st alley running east and vest
_ south of North PPBYT St. which alley prorosed ito be vacated is more

Sts . No one appearing and no remonstrance having been filed the
- Board decided that the benefits to ,property liable to be assessed
for the cost of said improvement are equal to the cost as estimat-
ed by the City Civil .i:ngineer , and thereupon take final action on
said Resolution confirming same without modification.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement -Resolution No. 572-1919
for- the improvement of North 2 rd St . by constructing cement curb
and gutter standard vid.th on both sides of said Street and grading
and graveling the roadway from North "L`lit' St. to North "i ' St .
The City Lngi neer reported the completion of the contract of U.
M. Kirkpatrick under Improvement Resolution No. 558-1919 for the
paving of South 9th street with concrete from South "r," St . to
the south Col ; olatien Limits of the City of r cbmond , Indiana, by
paving the readv:ay on such portion thereof as is not improved by
Paving under yrc'vi si ens of the Three Mile Noa d law. On motion
the .Board accetted same , and ordered an assessment roll :prepared.
The Clerk presented the petition now before the Public Service
=Cormnisoi0_1 of the state of Indiana, in the matter of the applica-
tion of The Ri hmond city 4.atel" +Urks for authority to increase
rates.
The Beard directed the Finance Dept . to :'ay the Contractor,
Daniel C-. Duri:nard't the 5% reserve retaiffeE-6ff the improvement,

The Board instructed the Fire Chief to rurchase two ( 2) stoves
fcr the 1-ire Dept.
The Street Commissioner was instructed to co-operate with the St .
Car 'Co. in opening up drains at the Corner of 8th & Main ,Sets.
The Board received bids for the improvement of -the alley between
North 12th & 13th Sts . from North' "C" St . to North ''D" St. under
improvement heaolution No. 570-1919 .

Peitz moved that next Monday being Labor Lay the Board adjourn
until Thursday , September 4th , 1919 .
