The Clerk was also' instructed to notify the Hoffman Construction
Co. , fe Mr. Underwood, The Hotel Westcott , to have teamsters now
working on North 10th St . on the Steinhardt Bldg. to stop scatter-
ing dirt from their wagons along the streets.
Mr. Peitz moved that after careful inveU'tigation by_the Bldg. In-
spector, Fire Chief, and City Atty. the building in question on
the corner of North 12th and "B" Sts. is being properly construct-
ed according to the . City Bldg. Code. Seconded by Mr. Taylor mo-
tion prevailed.
Bills to the amount of $p10,004.08 were allowed and ordered paid.
. The Board approved the various payrolls up to August 1st, 1919.
The Board then adjourned . •

The Board of Iub1ic V;orks of the City of M.chmond , Indiana , met
in regular session. in the office of said Board Monday, August 11 ,
1919 , at 9 A.M. T'W , of the members of said Board being present
Messrs . Taylor, and Feltz , absent Mr. Gilbert , the following pro-
ceedings were had to-wit :-
I. A. Gorman, Supt . of Police , requested that the Board have the
City jail repaired and painted. The Board will give it considera-
tion.
The Clerk was instructed to notify H. F, Prichard of 326 S . 8th
St . , and. Dan Gard of R. H. 8, to have the weeds cut on their pro-
perty on hichmondAve. between 7th & 8th Sts . , also to notify
Mather Bros. , and the Standard Oil Company to have the weeds cut
at their property or place of business on North "Far St.
The Board investigated the opening of the roadway at the north
of are unanimously 5
side the gravel site in Spring Grove , and �._e unan�rsous_y in
favor of it .
The Board recommended that the matter of traffic rules be referred

to the Ordinance Committee to rrepare an Ordinance to present to
Council giving the east and west streets the right-of-way .

The Board of Public V' orks of the City of hichmorid , Indiana met in
regular session in the office of said Board Thursday, August 14,
1919 , at 9 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present
Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were
had to-wit :- -- -
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or whose property
is affected by the construction of a cement roadway in the alley
between N. 12th & 13th Sts. from N. "C" to N. "B" under Improvement
iesolution No. 570-1919 . No one appearing or remonstrating the
Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed
for said improvement' are equal to the cost of same as reported by
the City Engineer, and thereupon take final action on said Resolu-
tion the same being confirmed without modification, and the Clerk
instructed to advertise for bids.
The City Engineer reported the completion of the contract under
Improvement aesoluti on No 562-1919. Mr. Pelt; moved that it be
accepted, and the Clerk ordered to prepare the assessment ral..
Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. 41
The Board received a complaint from Mrs. Elden Brown that the Rettig
Ice Coin blowing out their boiler flues at night blow soot all over
the neighborhood. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Rettig
I asking him if there �^gas not some way that he could elimjtaate this
trouble.
The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. M. C . Henley to have the
weeds cut on his lots on the north-east corner of N. 15th & WT Sts.
The Clerk was instructed to have Chas. Tangeman to repair tl *+ei,let
in the house at the Starr Park.
