the _Board after careful consideration, and being properly in-
formed in regard to this improvement decides that the benefits
to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal
to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Civil Eng.
less the sum the City will pay toward said improvement. The City
agrees to pay the cost of Street and Alley Intersections, 10% of
the cost of the Curb & Gutter, and a such sum in addition there-
to as will amount to the sum of Fifty-five. Hundred 05500.00)
Dollars. The Board thereupon takes final action upon said RReso .

tion. The majority of residence property owners remonstrating
against said improvement the Board can proceed no further in the
matter of said improvement unless authorized by Ordinance passed
by a 2/3 Vote of the Common `Council and approved by the Mayor.
Mr. Peitz • then moved the said improvement be referred to the Common
Council in the form of an Ordinance for their consideration. Second-
ed by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The question then being upon the adopt-
ion of the motion of Mr. Peitz , Messrs. Gilbert, Taylor, and Peitz
voting aye the motion of Mr. Pelts was declared adopted.
The Board then adjourned.

regular session in the-office- of said Board Mond , August 4, 1919 ,
at 9 A.M. - All the menbers of the said Board being present Messrs.
Gilbert, Taylor, ' and Pelts, the following proceedings were had to-
wit : -
The Board received the following communications:

Gentlemen.:
I desire to withdraw my verbal petition to declare South-west
Sixth St . , from South-west "A}4 to National Ave. vacated as a street
and declared a twenty foot alley as that would jeopardise the. chance,
of getting a much needed Fire plug at South-west "A" and South-west
Sixth Sts. Thanking you for your consideration, I wish to remain

The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Ind..
Gentlemen:
We the Firemen of the City of Richmond, Ind iPn:a , do hereby
submit to you for your careful consideration this notice asking
you for an increase in salary of Ten ($10.00) Dollars per month ,
and a vacation of 14 days,_ and every 5th day Off, to take effect
January 1st, 1920.

Mr. Peitz moved that the above communication be placed on file
and considered in the budget for next year.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution 571-1919 ,
providing for the improvement of the 1st alley running east and
west north of South "B" St. between South 6th & 7th Ste. by con-
structing a Sanitary Sewer in said alley running from the South
6th St. sewer in South 6th 'St. east in alley to the alley running
north and south between South 6th & 7th Sts.
The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Mrs. Geo. H. Knollenberg
to have the weeds cut on lots 6 & 7 , Geo . H. Knollenberg' s Add. ,
on South 8th Street between 'I" &
The Clerk was instructed to notify Mrs. L. S. Kaufman , 51 S. 18th
St . to have the poplar trees removed from infront of her property
203 National Avenue.
A. Clark Stevens appeared before the Board requesting that the City
give 15 ft. off the north line of gravel site in Spring Grove for
opening up a roadway, at no other expense to the City . The Board
decided to take under advisement with the City Engineer.
The Board received bids-for the Improvement of-South 9th St . by
constructing a cement sidewalk 6 ft . wide on both sides of said
street from South "H" to South "L" St. under Improvement Resolution
568-1919.
Daniel G. Burkhardt ' s bid:
Six ft. sidewalk per Square Foot $0.28�
Sidewalk intersections per Sq. Ft. p0.29�'
Removing stumps of trees, each 10.00
- No other bids being received and Mr. Burkhardt ' s bid being within
the Engineer' s estimate , Mr. Feltz moved that the bid be accepted
and the contract so awarded. Seconded by Mr. Taylor So ordered.
The Clerk was instructed to. notify Henry Wright of South-west "A"
to have the weeds cut on his vacant lots on said street.
The Board then adjourned.
