Ansley J. King, and C. Smith. D. Lambert was absent. OTHERS PRESENT; Village Administrator, J. West Village Clerk, V. Krnac Village Attorney, R. Buck Mayor Selfridge called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. with a moment of silence in memory of James Graham who passed away this week. L. Robinson requested an addition to-the agenda, The Board continue this meeting to October 25, 1982 at 7:00 p.m. for bid openings for the logging equipment for dispatching and also to go aver the Facility Planning for the waste water treatment report and we will have the engineer at that meeting. J. King .made a motion to approve the invoices for payment. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call. Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. Mayor Selfridge read a letter from xnights of Columbus requesting per- mission to hold their annual Tootsie Ro11 Drive, on October 29th and 30th. The Board discussed prohibiting selling in the street due to the danger. J. King made a motion .the Clerk send a letter of approval but to stress, no soliciting on the street and if any is done, they will be removed by the police. Seconded by Smith. Vote by roll call. Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Smith,, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. Mayor Selfridge announced to the Board the Will County Municipal League Meeting will be at Plainfield Village Hall on Thursday, October 21, 1982 with Plainfield as host. P4ayor Selfridge urged all Board members to attend. G. Ansley made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the Treasurer's Report. Seconded by King. Vote by roll call. Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson gave a report from the Plan Commission. Plainfield Historical Society had requested Plaza Drive he re-named to Fort Beggs Drive in honor of Old Fort Beggs. Since the street has been extended from Route 59 to James Street, it is now possible to see the marker far Old Fort Beggs. The Plan Commission voted 6 to 0 that the Village Board adopt a resolution to change the name of Plaza Drive to Fort Beggs Drive. The Historical Society also requested that Lockport Street name be changed to Lincoln Way, but the Plan Commission thought this change would be too inconvenient for too many people and businesses. West to contact those people effected if the name of Plaza Drive were changed to Fort Beggs Drive, then they can get an imput from the public. J. King reported the Halloween tricks or treats hours are set for Sunday, October 31, 1982 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. He also suggests the parents go out with their children.. C. Smith reported the 1982 Street Maintenance has been completed. Union Street was mistakenly repaired by the Contractor, instead of Newkirk Drive. They are doing Newkirk Drive today. The curve at Pratt and Newkirk is in poor condition and they will try to repair it also. C. Smith reported the tree on Lockport Street and Fox River Street is a danger. Mayor Selfridge suggested a letter be written to the State giving them notification of the danger. C. Smith reported Plaza Drive was open for Homecoming. There .is .a can~~rn of truck traffic on Plaza Drive. This will be tabled until next meeting. C. Smith made a motion to accept a quote of $22.92 per ton for salt and we should order two (2).20 ton loads.. Seconded by. Ansley. Vote by roll call. Robinson, aye; Ansley,. aye; King, aye; Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. C. Smith made a motion to put the snow removal contract out for bids, on an hourly basis and on request. Seconded by Robinson. Vote by roll call. Robinson, aye; Ansley, aye; King, aye; Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. Bid opening November 1, 1982 - 8:00 p.m. G. Ansley suggested the Village place another dumpster in the rear of the Village Hall. C. Smith will check into it and report to the Board at the next meeting. L. Robinson reported on the progress on Well #4. It was only necessary to bail less than 3 days, it was estimated it would take 7 days originally. It was not necessary to go any deeper. They are adding 2 additional bowls, are replacing 6 sections of 8" pipe, approximately $500.00 of pipe. Stainless steel. tubing approximately 700' long, Total price approximately $31,000. Everything should be completed earl next week. • L. Robinson gave a report on the Facility Plan Step I. It should go to EPA as soon as possible. This will be reviewed by the Board at the Workshop on October 25th. We do have a dead line to be reimbursed by the Government 75~. Village Board Qf Trustees October 18, 19$2 Page 3 L. Robinson, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion L. Robinson reported he was notified this evening there is a broken water main at .11.5 Main Street. The repairs will be made starting tommarrow October 19th at 7:30 a.m. L. Robinson reported there is a bad fire hydrant at 718 Center Street, he is getting prices for repairs. Tt will be: repaired as soon as possible. L. Robinson reported Emergency Services will have the Village/Township Disaster Plan completed October 19, 1982. Also the Committee on Hazardous Materials will give their report in the near future. G. Ansley made a motion to approve the Employees Handbook. Effective November 1, 1.982. Mayor Selfridge reported Ambulance report 14 Residential calls, 2 school ,calls, 2 business calls, 2 medical aid station runs, 3 non--emergency ~ transfers. For the month 27ca11s were billed, 23 were paid. L. Robinson made a motion to acknoledge receipt of the Ambulance Report. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call. Robinson, aye;. Ansley, aye; King, aye; Smith, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. West reported three (3) residents responded they would like to be on the Cable T.V. Committee. G.
