Smith, J. King, G. Ansley, L. Robinson, D. Lambert. pTHERS PRESENT: Administrator- J. West, Village Clerk V. Krnac, Attorney J. Harvey. Mayor Selfridge opened the meeting at 7;30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken all members of the Board were present. Mayor Selfridge suggested the. Board have an Executive Session on personnel, prior to Committee Reports. C. Smith made a motion to accept current invoices for payment. Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call. Graham, aye; Smith, aye; King, aye; Ansley, aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. Mayor Selfridge read a letter from March of Dimes requesting permission to conduct the annual Race of Dimes, Saturday, January 29, 1983.from 8:30 a.m, to 2:00 p.m. No objections were made. Mayor Selfridge. introduced two representatives from Lanier Corporation Kenneth Lou/ Pat Ferguson who gave a demonstration on logging'by cassettes, the Police calls coming into the Dispatchers. Board went into Executive Session at 8:30 p.m. Mayor Selfridge called the meeting to resume from Executive Session at 9:25 p.m. Mayor Selfridge read a letter from Randy Krnac requesting permission to cut down a tree that is decaying on Village property directly across the street from his home at 15 W. Ottawa Street. Mr. Krnac would like to keep the wood for his use and be totally responsible for any injury or property damage in doing so, and will be responsible for cleaning up when the job is done. The Board approved the request. Mayor Selfridge read a letter from Plainfield Cemetary Association requesting a depressed curb 20' wide at the south gate of the Cemetary property. .J, West•s~id there is no additional cost to the Village. Mayor Selfridge read a letter from Janco Building Corporation requesting information from the Village of Plainfield for an industry that is looking for land near Aurora T1linois. Janco Corporation would.re~uire ~ a.cr.es,-:of land .and construct a building of approximately 30,000 sq. feet. The building should have water available for a sprinkler system. This company would employ 60 women and 20 men and would be a clean operation. The function of this company would involve printing. Mayor Selfridge instructed J. West to send a letter to Janco Corporation. I . L. Robinson reported on the meeting of the Downtown Development. It was well attended and we are waiting for responses. Village Board of Trustees September 20, 1982 Page 2 L. Robinson reparted there will be a Flood Plan Workshop at Louis Joliet Renaissance Center Friday, September 24, 1983. J. King made a motion that the Village of Plainfield wi11 provide Police Security to Plainfield School District far school. activities, at their request, at $15.00 per hour per officer for 1982-1983 season, within the Village limits only. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call.. Graham, aye; Smith, aye;. King, aye;-Ansley, aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. C. Smith reparted half .the past due sidewalk payments have been made. Some of the sidewalks on James Street ca11 for black top.. Smith suggested this be standerized to all cement. He will check out how many slabs, and wi11 report next meeting. C. Smith suggested to the Board to recend the leaf burning ordinance. L. Robinson made a motion to repeal the leaf burning ordinance, it will be allowed with conditions. No burning on streets, sidewalks or park ways, and with great pre- caution. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call. Graham, aye; Smith, aye; King, aye; Ansley, aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, nay. 5 ayes, :one.~riay. Motian declared carried. L. Robinson reminded the Baard of the Workshop Monday, September 27th at 7:00 p.m. There will be two' gentlemen from Layne/inlestern to talk to the Baard about Well #4. L. Robinson reported on Emergency Services. He gave Mayor Selfridge a report far his signature on work done in Emergency Services far the past year. G. Ansley made a motion to renew the Revenue Sharing Bulletin subscription for one year at $42.00, Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call. Graham, aye; Smith, aye; King, aye; Ansley, aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, aye. 6 aynes, na nays. Motian declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to direct the attorney to prepare the proper paper work for the $100,000..1oan from Plainfield National Bank at interest rate of 8~0. Vote by roll call. Graham, aye; Smith, aye; King, aye;, Ansley, aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motian declared carried. J. Graham reported to the Board, for the month of August the Ambulance service made 37 trips, one rescue and 36 ambulance ca11s, average time 1 minute 26.4 seconds. Treasurers report as of July 13, with Certificate of Deposits leaves a balance of $14,0$2.14, Collections are running about 60-65~. L. Robinson reminded everyone of the Ambulance Tax Referendum on the November ballot. D. Lambert reported t© the Board she will set up a meeting of those involved in the radio logging system. J. West reparted to the Baard the office personnel were making a telephone survey on • Cable T.V. and he would report the results at the next meeting.
