The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Monday, July 14, 1919 , at 9 A.M. All members of the said Board being present Messru. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were had to- wit : - On motion of Mr. Gilbert the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with . The Board received a communication from the Travelers Indemnity Co. , of Hartford, .Conn. signed by John L. Thompson, Supt. , giving certain recommendations to be made on the Tubular Boiler for the heating plant of the City Bldg. arid allowing a steam pressure of 15 pounds on said boiler, this communication was referred to Mr. Miller, Fire Chief. The Board instructed the Clerk to instruct the Police Dept . to notify - the property owners on the south side of Richmond Ave. between the river and W. 1st St . to have their weeds cut. The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Murray to at once have the Bill Board on North 10th St . between "J" and the river raised 36 inch es from the ground. The Board instructed the Engineer to have all the unused lamp posts from all over the City r.em_oved. The Bldg. Inspector was instructed to have two ( 2 ) new awnings put up at the vest windows in the City Engineer's office. The Clerk was instructed to notify the Park Supt . tc have the Sanitar Drinking Fountain in the South 1Cth St . Park repaired. Mr. John Foulke appeared before the Board asking for more time to re- move building material from Park Place between S. 10th & llth Sts. Mr. Peitz moved that Mr. Foulke be given until Monday, July 21st , 1919 Q0/, Monday, July 14, •1919 . to have said material removed. Seconded by Mr. Taylor •so ordered. The Clerk was instructed to notify Harry U. Wood of 1120 Main St. to have his garbage can accessible for the Garbage Collector at all times or the City will not collect the garbage . The Board received and accepted the resignation of rich. and Howard custodian of the City Bldg. to take effect July 15th, 1919. The Board approved and signed the petition of W. J. Pleasant grant- ing him permission to cut an 8 ft . driveway under private contract in the curb infront of property Lot +8 Coffin & Rost Add. on South "F" St. between South 11th & 12th Sts. All work to be done at the petitioners expense and in accordance with the Standard Specifica- tions for such work subject to the inspection of the City Eng. Inspector, City Engineer , Fire Chief, or Police Dept. be furnished to the Clerk who shall notify the pro- perty owners to have same removed at once. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
