Regular Meeting
DATE: June 7, 1982 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President R. Selfridge, Trustees J. Grahaan,
C. Smith, L. Rob-inson, D. Lambert. G. Ansley
and J. King were absent.
P~e.sdent Selfridge called meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with pledge
to the flag. Roll call. was taken. G. Ansley and J. King were absent.
C. Smith made a motion to open bids on the Blazer following bid
openings at 8;00 p.m. on sidewalks. Seconded by Lambert. Vote by
tall call: Graham, aye; Smith, aye.; Robinson, nay; Lambert aye.;
Selfridge, ay.e. 4 ayes, one nay. Motion declared carried.
R.. Graham made. a motion tca approve minutes of May 3 and May l9 as
written. ~7ote by roll call, Graham, aye.; Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
Lambert, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President advised the. clerk to send a letter to Plainfield Historical
Society of the. Boards approval to close Chicago Street from Desplaines
to Fox River Streets from 5;00 to 9:00 on August llth for their annual
ice cream social.
. J'. Graham made a motion to .send a letter of commitment to contribute
~ sum n.ot to exceed $367..00 towards the salary of Joy Kirkpatrick
Curl Engineer for Joliet Urbanized Area Council of P4ayors. Seconded
by Smith. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
Lambert, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
D. Lambert made. a motion to adopt Ordinance #1034 creating Village
administrator. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye;
Smith, aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, aye. 4 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
C. Smith made a motion to set salary for Village Administrator at
$30,,00:0..00 pe.r year. Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call:

Pres.dent Selfridge introduced the newly hired Village Administrator,
James. West, to start his duties on June 15, 1982.
D. Lambert made a motion to adapt Resolution #8l7' endorsing the efforts
o,f the ~~Tll County Audubon Society to preser~re Lake Renwick as a
wildlife sanctuary. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call:
Graham, aye; Smith. aye; Robinson, aye; Lambert, aye. 4 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
. D. Lambert made a motion to hire Dwayne Wilkerson as dispatcher effective
immediately. Wage $4.25 for 90 days, then $4.50 per hour. Seconded
by C.. Smith., Vote by roll. call; Graham, aye; Smith, aye; Robinson, nay;
Lambert, aye ,• Selfridge, aye. 4 ayes, 1 na_y. Motion declared carried.
