The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , Monday, July 7 , 1919 , at 9 A.M. All members of the said Board being present, Messrs Silbert , Taylor, and Peitz , the following_ proceedings were had to- wit : - I/ On motion of Mr. Gilbert the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Gilbert presented the following communication: _ July, 3, 1919 . Harry Gilbert , President , Board of Works, City. Dear Harry: Will you please write us a. formal letter, as President of the Board of Works confirming your statement to the writer of a few days ago that the City has determined upon the purchase of the pro- perty at #32 S. 8th St. and will complete the same exercising its option on or about the 15th of July, so that the matter may be definitely settled and a matter of record between us . Yours , Dickinson Trust Company E. Hiatt , President and dictated the following reply to the above : July 7 , 1919 . Edgar Hiatt, President, Dickinson Trust Company, City. Dear Edgar: Complying with yours of the 3rd beg to state that the City will exercise its option which is provided for in the lease , and will purchase property at #32 South 8th St . The matter of settle- ment will take place as soon as proper arraigements can be made. Yours , Board of Public Works , H. W. Gilbert, Pres Mr . Peitz moved that the City Atty. draw up a..bill for. an ordinance for an additional appropriation of 022,500.00 out of the M. E. L. & _ P. P. General Fund for the purchase of above said building. Second- ed by Mr. Taylor 'so ordered. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Ed. Hollarn, Supt . of Glen Miller Park to have the bridge at the first spring north of the Main St . entrance to the park repaired at once. Bills to the amount of 017 ,405.54 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls up to July 1st , 1919. The Board then adjourned. t /r Press of the Board. Attest: !'
