Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley, J. Graham, J. King, D. Lambert, L. Robinson, and C . Smith . President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken. All members were present. J. Graham made a motion to approve minutes of March 1, March 15 and March 23 as written. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. Fresident proclaimed United States Air Force Airmen of Note Day in the Village of Plainfield to be Wednesday, April 7, 1982. Permission was granted for the Herschel Clark Assembly, Order of the Rainbow for Girls tag day to be Friday, May 7th. and Saturday, May $th. D. Lambert made a motion to pass Ordinance No. 1030; Article 9, An Ordinance banning parking at certain places within the Village, Section 9-2-57: on the north side of Oak Street, between Desplaines and Illinois Streets, but only for the first 60 feet east of the easterly boundary of Desplaines Street. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson made a motion to send Harry Countryman to the Sewage Treatment Convention, April 20-22 at Springfield, Illinois at a cost of approximately $289.00. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smitli, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson made a motion to purchase a used 1974, 2 ton, pickup truck, V8, 302 engine at a cost of $1,300.00 upon approval of the Water ~ Sewer and Street Departments. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. King made a motion to rebid the 1976 Chevrolet Blazer for bids to be opened May 3, 1982 at 8:00 p.m. Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. C. Smith made a motion to recommend to the Illinois Department of Transportation the standard alternate plan as presented to the Board of Trustees for the widening of Route 59. Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, nay; Smith, aye; Ansley, nay; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 4 ayes, two nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion that a footnote be added telling IDOT that the -~~ PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES April 5, 1982 Regular Meeting feeling of the Board is they realize the improvements are needed but would prefer no widening of the highway. Seconded by D. Lambert, Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, nay; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 5 ayes, 1 nay. Motion declared carried. Board authorized C. Smith to investigate hiring a part time employee for the street department with wages negotiable. Board instructed the Village Clerk to contact the Village Engineer to prepare the necessary documents needed to accept the Pheasant Chase Subdivision at the next Board meeting of April 19, 1982.
