Thursday , June 26, 1919.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at- the office of the said Board, Thurs
day, June 26 , 1919 , at 9 A.M. All members of the said Board
being present Messrs. Gilbert , Taylor, and Peitz the following
proceedings were had to-wit:-

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Board instructed the City Engineer and City Clerk to look
after the boiler in the City Bldg. and see that it is properly
repaired.
The Board approved the Resolution passed by the Common Council
June 16, 1919, in the matter of. the petition of Benjamin Fore-
man et al. for the improvement of the E. L. Commons Road and
South E Street in the City of Richmond, being a continuation
of said road, all of said highway being in Wayne Township,
Wayne County, Indiana, under the provisions of the Three Mile
Road Law. (See Resolution, record E, page 532. )
• The Board instructed the Engineer to look after the condition •
of South C Street between Ilth & 12th Streets.
The Clerk was instructed to notify Cora M. Carman, and Frank
Waltz to have the stumps removed from infront of their Property
on South 9th St . between South H & South I Streets at once.
Mr. Miller, Fire Chief, informed the Board that he had appoint-
ed Ray Robbins, fireman, to fill the vacancy caused by the re-
signation of Wm. Goehner. The Board approved said appointmeit.

The Board received bids for the improvement of South 9th Street by .
constructing a cement walk 6 ft. wide on both lades of said street
from South H' to South, Z St. under Improvement Resolution 565-1919
as follows to-wit:-
Daniel G. Burkhardt ' s bid:
6 ft. sidewalk per sq. ft . - - - 0.262 cents
Cement intersections per sq. ft. 0.28 "
No other bids being received .and Mr. Burkhardt' s. bid being above the
City Engineer's estimate Mr: Peitz moved that the bid be rejected
and the Clerk instructed to readvertise for bids. Seconded by Mr.
Taylor so ordered.
The Board received bids for the improvement of South E' St. and al-
ley between South 4th & 5th Street by constructing a serer: Beginn-
ing at the Trunk Sewer in South E Street at South 6th Street , running
thence west in South E Street to the alley running north between S,
4th & 5th Street ; thence north in said alley to the 1st alley south
of South D Street running east & west, under Improvement Resolution
566-1919 au follows to-wit : -
Z. B. Pyle bid:
Sewer complete per linear ft. --- $2.39
No other bids being received and Mr. Pyle's bid being within the Eng-
ineer' s estimate Mr. Peitz moved the bid be accepted and the con-
tract be awarded to Mr. Pyle. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
The Board then adjourned.
