DATE: March 1, 1982 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President R. Selfridge, Trustees, G. Ansley,
J. Graham,J. King, L. Robinson and C. Smith. D. Lambert
absent.
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the
flag. Roll call was taken. D. Lambert was absent.
J. Graham made a motion to accept the agenda as written. Seconded by
C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye;
Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to approve minutes of February 1 and February 15,
1982 as written. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Graham,
aye; King, Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye.. 5 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
Permission was granted to the Plainfield Wildcat Boosters Club to solicit
door to door in the Village of Plainfield on March 27, 1982 to raise funds
to help support the athletic programs at Plainfield High. School and Indian
Trail Junior High School.
Permission was granted to the Plainfield Jaycee's for their annual
muscular dystrophy campaign for March l2 and March 13, 1982. The Board
proclaimed the week of March 8 - 14, 1982 as "Muscular Dystrophy Week".
Mr. Bill Joyce and his associates from Joyce Cable TV gave a presentation
on cable TV.
Mr. Russell Scent, 608 James St. appeared before the Board inquiring when
the trucks and machinery would be moved on the lot at the corner of James
Street and Lockport Street. Mr. George Austin, President of Bennett Con-
struction was present at the meeting and he informed the Board that the
machinery and trucks over l~ tons will be moved within a week.
G. Ansley made a motion to agree with the terms of the Plainfield School
District Intergovernmental Agreement deleting of sidewalks on south side
of Plaza Drive and the completion date in Paragraph 5 to read July 1, 1985.
Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
C. Smith made a motion to pass Resolution #81.~A Illinois Department of
Transportation requiring the Village of Plainfield doing any work on
State maintained Rights of Ways must obtain a written permit from the
State including any emergency work on broken watermains or sewers before
starting job. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to authorize the Village Clerk and Treasurer
to invest money and enter into agreement far the Plainfield National Bank
to have all investments secured by deposits in Federal Reserve Bands of
checkage to match what funds are in bank. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote

G. Ansley made a motion far the Village of Plainfield of Plainfield,
Illinois on the 1st. day of P~~arch, 1982 that the President of said
Village, Richard J. Selfridge and the Village Clerk are authorized
to execute said easement with Commonwealth Edison Company, being the
Grantor; said easement referring to James Street storm sewer outfall.
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
Village Attorney informed the Board that March 22, 1982 has been
designated the date upon which the annual application for judgment
against land upon which general taxes remain due and unpaid. He
stated the following Monday, March 29, 1982 is the date on which
the sale of such delinquent lands, lots and real. property adjudged
delinquent will be exposed to sale. He stated that publication of
the advertisement shall be made at least once not mare than thirty
(30) days nor less than fifteen (15) days in advance of the date which
the judgment is to be sought. He stated that publication should be
made in the Joliet Herald News, Friday, March 5, 19$2.edition.
