HomeMy Public PortalAbout01.04.82 VB MinutesPLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES Regular Meeting DATE: January 4, 19$2 AT: Village Hall MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President R. Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley, J. Graham, J. King, D. Lambert, L. Robinson, and C. Smith. President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken. All members were present. C. Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of December 7 and December 21 as written. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. President appointed James Graham as representative for the Village of Plainfield for the January 12, 1982 meeting with the Plainfield Commerce Association. President read a letter of appreciation directed to the Police Department from Mr. Robert Barnes, District Supt. of Commonwealth Edison Company. President read a letter of thanks from the Crest Hi11 Police Department for the assistance of the Plainfield Police Department's K-9 Support Unit on December 7, 1981. Officer Greg Chapman presented a plaque to .lames King in appreciation and support . to the Police Department. Mr. Russell Scent, 60$ James Street appeared before the Board requesting that the trucks and machinery being stored at the corner of James Street and Lockport Street be removed. The Village Attorney requested that he sign a complaint with the Police Department and the Board would proceed with further action due to the property not being zoned far this use. Mr. Ronald Dumser, 113 S. Garfield, Hinsdale, Illinois appeared before the Board requesting that the items on the punch list of Building permit No. 78-80 be deleted. It was the decision of the Board that they should not be deleted and any further action or discussion that Mr. Dumser may have will have to be directed to Village Building Inspector, Mr. Allan Mauer. L. Robinson made a motion to grant the bid for manhole repairs be granted to T&R Construction Company - 2 at Rte. 30 & 126 @ $1,300.00 and 3 on Route 126 near the Country Spirit Restaurant @ $1,560.00 totaling $2,860.00. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to direct the Village Attorney to draw up an Ordinance of interest of intent with the will County Municipal League Risk Management Ynsurance program. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham, aye; and King, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
