City of Richmond, Indiana, Thursday, June 12, 1919 . - The Board of 'Public Works of the- Vity of Richmond., Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , Thursday, June 12 , 1919 , at 9 o ' clock A.M. TWO of the meubers of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert , and Taylor, absent Mr. Pe'Utz , the following rroceedings were had to-wit : - The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. . The Board instructed . the Supt. of the Light P1aa t to move pole • and light at corner of South 18th & South "A" to the intersec- tion at said point . - • The Board received a report of appraisement made by appraisers appointed to appraise the tord automobile use by the Police Dept . The Board received the petition tf Susanna T. Middleton for the construction of a sanitary sewer in the alley north of V . Main St . from N.W. 7th St . to a point east of N. W. 8th St . Re- ferred to fie City Engineer. The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or whose pro- perty is affected by improvement resoluti on under 565-1919. yrc- viding for the improvement on both sides of South 9th St. from South"H" St. to 5uuth "L" St. by constructing cement sidewalk 6 ' ft. wide . No one appearing and no remonstrance having been filed the Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the city Engineeisand thereupon take final action on said resolution, same being confirmed without modification. Norone appearing and no remonstrances having been filed the Board decided that the benefits to property fable to be assessed for the cost of said improvement are equal to the cost as estimat- ed by the City Civil Engineer less the sum the City will pay to- I/ ward said improvement . The City &greee to pay the sum of V00.00 , and thereupon take final action cn said resolution confirming same without modification. -The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Mr. A. W. Gregg to have a cover placed on the garbage container at his flat building at South 5th & "A" Streets. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the Sanitary Inspector to see to the cleaning of alley between South 6th & 7th Streets from Main to T+A" . - According to verbal agreement made by Mr. Todd of the T. H. I . & -E. Traction Co . to the Mayor and City Atty. that they would im- mediately fix between the tracks on South 8th St. between South "H" and South "L"after the War was over, the Board now demand that they immediately fulfill their agreement. Referred to Mr. Byram Robbins City Atty. to take up with Mr. Todd. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the City Atty. . to take up v'ith the proper authorities the repairing or fixing in permanent way the C . & w. . R. R. Company' s north "L" and 3rd St . crossing. The Board instructed the City Engineer to place inlet in alley be- tween South 7th & 8th Streets near' "H" Street. The Board then adjourned. _.
