The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Monday, June 9 , 1919 ,• at 9 o 'clock . A.M.' All of the members of the said Board be- . ing present MeEsrs. Gilbert, Taylor , and Peitz the following pro - ceeding, were had to-wit : - 111 The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. I/ Mr. Wm. Bartel , Jr. representing a committee of_ the South Side Improvement Association appeared before the Board of Works asking for electric lights to be palced on South 9th St. below South "IA" . The Board instructed Mr. Bartel to take this matter up with Mr. Dillon, Supt . of the Light Plant , and if he thinks it a paying pro- poe tion, to get up a petition. • Mr. Weller requested the Board to have North 3rd Street scraped' & cleaned. The Board informed Mr. Weller that they would take it under consideration. In pursuance of the request of the Common Council of this City His Honor Wm. A. Bond, Judge pro-tem of the Wayne Circuit Court , ap-- . pointed Messrs. Jesse A. Bailey, Horace G. Clark, and John E. Healy as appraisers to appraise the Ford Automobile belonging to the City and_ used by the Police. Dept . with the view of selling same. Pursuant to continuance to this date the Board meets to hear re- monstrances if any, of persons primarily assessed on account of the construction of a cement roadway in alley between South 21st •& 22nd Streets from South "A" south to the north line of Tract 537 - Official Map of the City of Richmond under Improvement Resolution 559-1919. No one appearing or remonstrating the Board approved the final assessment roll confirming in all things the original assess- ment roll as heretofore' approved and now direct the same to be transmitted forthwith to the department of Finance. Supt. of the St . CarC( The Board instructed the City Engineer to take up with Mr. Gordon/ the question of. having gravel placed between the tracks on Grant Street . The Board instructed the City Engineer to have the National Road W . between 3rd & 4th Streets repaired. • - Mr. Peitz moved that brick and concrete streets be flushed on every Monday morning early, and any other time the tiity Engineer may deem i t . necessary, Seconded by Mr. . Taylor so ordered. The Board instructed the City Engineer to have sidewalk infront of City Bldg. repaired immediately. Mr. Davis, City Engineer, brought up the Question of the cutting o: weeds on City property now before thay go to seed. The Board in- structed the Engineer to have this done , calling, his attention par- ticularly to the park ways in Reeveston. . Mr. Peitz moved that the Sanitary Inspector be instructed to file affidavits against parties who are throwing waste paper in the 3 20 • L onday, • June 9 , 1919 . alleys be they scavengers or property owner, or any other per- son. Two of the m Lbers of the said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert , and Taylor, absent Mr. Peatz , the following rroceedings were had to-wit : - The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Board instructed . the Supt.. of the Light Fla at to move pole • and light at corner of South 18th & South "A" to the intersec- tion at said point . - The Board received a report of appraisement made by appraisers appointed to appraise the Ford automobile used by the Police Dept . The Board received the petition tf Susanna T. Middleton for the construction of a sanitary sewer in the alley north of W. Main St . from N.W. 7th St . to a point east of N. W. 8th St . Re- ferred to the City Engineer. The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or whose pro- perty is affected by improvement resolution under 565-1919. 1ro- viding for the improvement on both sides of South 9th St. from South "H" St. to South "L" St. by constructing cement sidewalk 6'ft. wide. No one appearing and no remonstrance having been filed the Board decided that the benefits to property liable to ' I/ be assessed for said improvement are equal to• the cost of same as reported by the Uity Engineeand thereupon take final action . on said resolution, same being confirmed without moth ficati on.
