AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.34-2022 KNOWN AS
'EDE 2023 SALARY ORDINANCE
WFIEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer,deputy and
other employee of the city departments,except police officers and firefighters,prior to November 1st for the
ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council,and
WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of deputies and employees of the Clerk's office
prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and
WI1EREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year Ibr which it is fixed but may be
reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments set
l'orth herein or by the City Clerk Ibr employees of the Clerk's office;except by arnendment approved by
COM1110/1(OUlled;and
WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance'34-2022 to establish salaries tbr the year 2023 and
now finds it necessary to amend the salaries within the Fire I)epartment,
NOW,"f I II he it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richimmd,Indiana that the following positions
be compensated not in excess inure respective sums hereafter set forth during the,calendar year 2023,to wit:

TEMPORARY AND PA III1TME
In addition to the positions set forth above,the Mayor and the City Department I leads may,as needed,
hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets, Com pc n satton
for these positions may range from$7.25 to$15.00 per hour. I.)tie to the specialized training required,
compensation for Certified Paramedics may range from$7,25 to$18,00 per hour.
ADDITIONAL.COMPENSATION
In addition to the salaries set forth above,certain employees,excluding members of the Board of
Works and Safety,the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board,may be entitled to additional compensation,
such as,overtime,compensation time,elc,,and tbime benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond
Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
