Regular Meeting
DATE: September 21, 1981 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President R. Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley, J. King,. D.
Lambert, L. Robinsan and C. Smith, J. Graham was absent.
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Roll
call was taken. J. Graham was absent.
J. King made a motion to approve current invoices for payment. Seconded by L. Robinsan.
Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King, aye.
5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
Permission was granted for the Plainfield Lions Club Candy bay to be held on Friday,
October 9 and Saturday, October 10, 1981 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept the agreement from Northern Illinois Gas Company
granting the right to construct, operate and maintain a gas distribution system in
the Village for a term of 50 years Exam July 2, 1979. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote
by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King, aye.
5 ayes, no nays. Motion deGlaxed carried.
G, Ansley made a motion to accept the receipt of the Treasurer's report. Seconded by
D. Lambert. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinsan, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
and King, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
. Mary Latta, a resident of the Whispering Creek Subdivision, directed questions to the
Village Board on behalf of the Whispering Creek Special Assessments. Village Attorney
answered her questions.
L. Robinson made a motion to prepare resolution for advertisement for bids for the
James Street water extension project to be opened October 19, 1981 contingent upon
the Plainfield School District granting easements of their September 28, 1981 meeting.
Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye;
Ansley, aye; and King, aye. 5 ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion for Lieutenant Lantz to attend the State of Illinois Canine
Seminar October l6, 17, & 18, 1981 at a cost of $106.00. Seconded by C. Smith.
Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye; Robinsan, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King,
aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Barbara Bush as a crossing guard at a rate of $6.00 per
day during school season. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King, aye. 5 ayes, na nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to reinstate Leo Kelly as a Grassing guard and parking enforcement
officer at a rate of $3.40 per hour for 35 hours per week. Vote by roll call: Lambert,
Robinsan, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.

J. Ansley made a motion to renew maintenance agreement with Xerox company for the
xerox copy machine. Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call: Lambert, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
D. Lambert made a motion to adjust Gary Picha's salary from $4.00 to $4..25 per hour
effective September 1, 1981. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Lambert,
aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and King, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
