Regular Meeting
DATE: June 1, '1981 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley,
J. Graham, J. King, D. Lambert, L. Robinson,
and C. Smith.
President called ,the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were present.
C. Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of May 4, May l$, and
May 21, 1981 meetings. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call:
King, aye; Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
C. Smith made a motion to accept the retirement of Joseph Bennett
effective July 24, 1981. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call:
King, aye; Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; Graham,
aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge made the following recommendations for appointments:
Attorney - Richard Buck
Electrical inspector - Donald Schmitz
Plumbing Inspector - Raymond Beebe
Police Pension - James King - 2 yr. term
Police Pension - George Ansley - 1 yr. term
J. King made a motion to accept the appointments. Seconded by C. Smith.
Vote by roll call: King, aye; Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye;
Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
Mr. Tom Hurley from Aetna Tank & Pump Co. gave a presentation on an
underground gas tank.
J. Graham made a motion to accept receipt of the Plan Commission annual
report. Seconded by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Lambert,
aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye3 and Graham, aye. 6 ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. Graham made a motion to pass Ordinance #1017; Chapter 8, Article 8,
Variation to zoning ordinance No. 674, granted by action of the Village
of Plainfield Board of Trustees; Sec. 8-11: Variation of maximum sign
size requirements for the Plainfield Food Mart. Seconded by D. Lambert.
Vote by roll call: King, aye; Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye;
Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays.. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to pass Ordinance #1018; Chapter 8, Article 8,
Variations to zoning ordinance No. 674, granted by action of the Village
of Plainfield Board of Trustees; Section 8-12: Variation of minimum
side yard requirements for the Dr. Stephen Fisher property. Seconded
• by D. Lambert. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Lambert, aye; Robinson,
aye; Smith., aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.

PLAINFIELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES June 1, 1981
Regular Meeting
G. Ansley made a motion to pass Ordinance #1019; Chapter 11, Article III,
Section 3-27: An Ordinance making Appropriations for the Village of
Plainfield for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1981. Seconded by
J. King. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Lambert,, aye; Robinson, aye;
Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. Graham presented the Federal Revenue Sharing report for the 19$1-
19,82 fiscal year as follows: Village Hall-$15,500.00, Parking Lot-
$3,950.00, Dispatchers-$11,568,50, Sen:iar Services Center-$1,200.00,
and Clean-up Day-$2,600.00 totalling $34,818.50.
J. Graham made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Federal
Revenue Sharing disbursements for the fiscal year 1981-1982 totalling
$34,818.50. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: King, aye;
Lambert, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye.
6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson gave a report on the clarifier repairs and maintenance
of May 27, 1981, at a total cost of the whole operation less than
$3000.00.
Recommendation from the Board to the Village Clerk to direct a letter
to Mr. Jolly for his assistance was made.
J. King made a motion to purchase 13 bumpers and 26 pins for the
front parking lot at a cost of less than $200.00.. Seconded by D.
Lambert. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Lambert, aye; Robinson,
aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
Authorization was made far G. Ansley, L. Robinson, and J. Graham
to negotiate dispatcher service due to the loss of CETA.
On motion meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
