Regular Meeting
DATE: April 6, 1981 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley,
J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson, and
C. Smith. J. D'Arcy was absent.
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Roll call was taken. J. D'Arcy was absent.
J. Graham made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by C. Smith.
Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to approve minutes of the March 2 and March 16
meetings. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: King, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to approve minutes of the March 2 Board of
Local Improvements meeting. Seconded by J, King. Vote by roll call:
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Grahams, aye.'.
5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge presented a plaque of recognition to Officer
M. Chelini.
President Selfridge presented a plaque for 10 years of dedicated
service to Thomas Mefferd.
J..K~ing made a motion to accept receipt of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye;
Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to grant the recommendation of the Zoning
Board of Appeals of the request of the Plainfield Taal and Engineering
to allow a side yard setback variation on the north property line to
within 20' of that line. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call:
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye.
5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1011; Chapter 8, Article 8,
Variations to zoning Ordinance #674, granted by action of the Village
of Plainfield Board of Trustees; Sec. $-9: Variation of minimum side
yard requirements for Illinois Route 59 property. Seconded by C. Smith.
Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to accept receipt of the Plan Commission
report. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson,
aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.

Regular Meeting
J. King made a motion to grant D. Pearson rezoning of 504 Park Lane
from Residence A to Residence A-1. Seconded, by C. Smith. Vote by
roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and
Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1012; Chapter 1, Article 3,
An Ordinance establishing the inauguration date of April 20, 1981 for
newly elected officers. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call:
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and Graham, aye.
5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge appointed John Watson as Director of ESDA and
Jack Markley as Deputy Director of ESDA.
President Selfridge announced the canvass of votes will be Wednesday
April 8, 1981 at 6:00 p.m. of the Village election held on April 7,
1981.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. by motion.
