Ansley, J. D'Arcy, J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson and C. Smith. President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were present. J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve current invoices for payment. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. President signed the Beta Sigma Fhi Sorority Proclamation declaring April 30, 1981 their 50th. anniversary. G. Ansley made a motion to accept receipt of the treasurer's report. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. Graham made a motion not to participate in the NIPC study of the DuPage River. Seconded by C. Smith. Graham made a motion to adapt Ordinance #1008; Chapter 7, Article 5, An Ordinance establishing regulations governing the construction, alt- eration, removal, and demolition, for the use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of buildings and structures in the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by L. Robinson., Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. Graham made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1009; Chapter 7, Article 5, An Ordinance establishing a minimum code of standards for the fixtures, materials, design, and installation methods of plumbing systems in the Village of Plainfield. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1010; Chapter 7, Article 5, An Ordinance amending Chapter 7, Article 5, Section 5-5-1-1 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield, known as the Electrical Code (Ordinance #898). Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Motion declared carried. -2- PLAINFTELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES March 16, 1981 Regular Meeting J. D'Arcy made a motion to uphold the recommendation of the Plan Commission and deny the request of R~balo for final plat approval of unit #1 without having submitted the final improvement engineering drawings as required by Section 3-8 of the Subdivision Regulations. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes,, no nays. Motion declared carried. C. Smith made a motion a letter be written to all the elected officials of our district and the Will County Forest Preserve District Board to encourage the acquisition of properties in Plainfield and Wheatland Townships. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to purchase a tar kettle jointly with the Plainfield Township Highway Department at a cost of $2,280.00 for the Village and $2,280.00 for the Plainfield Township Highway Department. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. Graham made a motion to accept the resignation of Thomas 0. Mefferd as ESDA Director effective March 3l, 1981. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll Call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson made a motion for Garland Smith Engineering Co. to inspect all the water distribution valves at a total cost of $2,450.00. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson made a motion to send one employee to the annual sewer convention, April Z1, 22, and 23 at Springfield, lllinois at a cost of under $200.00. with the stipulation that the employee report back to the Board and Water & Sewer committee of his findings. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to hire Jean Dunlap at a rate of $4.50 per hour; full time effective April 1, 1981. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; and D'Arcy, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to grant a variance to Pinu Pitroda, Plainfield Food Mart, for a lighted sign for 2 weeks grand opening with the stipu- lation that it be no larger than Parks Bros. sign and there be no flashing lights used. Seconded by J. Graham.
