Regular Meeting
DATE: January 5, 1981 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley,
J. D'Arcy, J. Graham, J. King, and
C. Smith. L. Robinson was absent.
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Roll call was taken. L. Robinson was absent.
J. Graham made a motion to approve the minutes of December 1 and
December 15, 1980. Seconded by C. Smith.. Vote by roll call: King,
aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes,
no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1003; Chapter 8, Article 8,
Variation to zoning Ordinance #674, granted by action of the Village
of Plainfield Board of Trustees, Sec. 8-8: Variation of maximum sign
size requirements far the Chicago Bridge & Iran Company property.
Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Smith, aye;
Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to approve payment of $821.36 to National
Electric Coil Worthington Service. Seconded by J. King. Vote by
roll call: King, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and
Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept the resignation of Kathleen Wheeler
effective January 5, 1981. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call:
King, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5
ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to hire Julie Blum as a full time dispatcher
at a rate of $3.75 per hour effective January 6, 1981. Seconded by
J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
No bids for the Water & Sewer & Street Departments truck were received.
At 8:00 the following bid was read for E.S.D.A. ambulance:
$22,250.00 - Jim McCarty, P.O. Box 72, Yorkville, IL.
J. King made a motion to accept receipt of the bid. Seconded by
J. D.'Arcy. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye.. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
J. Graham made a motion that the Village enter into an agreement to
purchase an ambulance at a cost of $22,250.00, having a cash payment
of $2,250.00 which will leave a balance to be financed at the
Plainfield National Bank in the amount of $20,000.00 having equal
payments on a four (4) year term with an annual interest rate of 9~
