Regular Meeting
DATE: December 15, 1980

MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley,
J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson, and
C. Smith. J. D'Arcy was absent.
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Roll call was taken. J D'Arcy was absent.
C. Smith made a motion to approve current invoices for payment. Seconded
by J. I{ing. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye;
Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion that the 2 hour parking in the downtown area be
changed to a 4 hour parking limit between December 16 to January 5, 1981.
Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion for the Village Planner to attend a Grant Workshop
at a cost of $90.00. Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Graham,
aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to approve the Treasurer's report. Seconded
by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
C. Smith made a motion on the advice of the Village Attorney for case
No. 106-111802, Richard Klett property, 806 Illinois St. be refer~~d
back to the Plan Commission for reconsideration. Seconded by J. Graham.
Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, nay; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye;
and Ansley, aye. 4 ayes, 1 hay. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept receipt of the Plan Commission report.

Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Plan
Commission, County Rezoning Case #2320-C, a 3 acre parcel on the east
side of Lily Cache Rd. at the intersection of Lily Cache Rd. and Link
Lane, not to object to the proposed County rezoning. Seconded by J.
King. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye;
Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to accept receipt of the Zoning Board of Appeals
report. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
C. Smith made a motion to adopt an Ordinance granting a sign variance
allowing 4 signs proposed by Grate Sign for Chicago Bridge & Iron

J. King made a motion to pass Resolution for Maintenance of Streets &
Highways by Municipality under the Illinois Highway Code for 1981 in
the amount of $12,000.00. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call:
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye,
5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1001; Chapter 8, Article 7,
Rezoning amendments to zoning Ordinance No. 674, Chapter 8, Artidle 6,
Sections 6-1 through 6-35; Section 7-56: Rezoning of 223 Main Street.
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance #1002; Chapter 8, Article 8,
Variation to Zoning Ordinance No. 674, granted by action of the Village
of Plainfield Board of Trustees; Sec. 8-7: variation of maximum sign
size requirements for 306 Joliet Rd. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by
roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and
Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adapt an

L. Robinson made a motion to advertise for bid for a 1981 - 1 ton,
4 wheel truck far the Water & Sewer Department and Street Department.

Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to pay Tony Tomich & Sons $6,872.75 for
partial payment of the sludge drying beds. Seconded by G. Ansley.

aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to approve payment of $5.00 per personnel to
attend the seminar "Use of Dead Force" December 17, 1980. Seconded
by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson,
aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to submit $250.00 to the Will County Municipal
.League for the study of combined munipalities insurance program.
Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, .aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to give all full time Village employees $25.00

and all part time Village employees $15.00 for their Christmas bonus.

L. Robinson made a motion to advertise for bid for a new ambulance
for E.S.D.A. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to accept receipt of petition from Mr. D. E.
Bourrie. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, no
nays. Notion declared carried.
President Selfridge appointed the following to serve on a committee
to study the Bartlett Avenue traffic and one-way street: Harry Buehl,
Chairman; Mrs. Besse Eichelberger (representing the School District);
Charles Smith (representing the Village Board); Mr. J. Orr; and
Mr. D. E. Bourrie.
On motion meeting adjourned at 9:52 p.m. to executive session.
