PLATNFTELD VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Regular Meeting
DATE: November 3, 1980
AT: Village Hall.
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley,
J. D'Arcy, J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson & C. Smith
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Roll call was taken. All members of the Board were present.
J. King made a motion to approve the minutes of O~tobef. 6, 19$0 and
October 20, 1980. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Smith,
aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; and Robinson,
aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to authorize Charles Smith to investigate and
have a ~t.r~et light erected on Penn Rd. at a cost of $9.75 per month,
Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll call: Smith, nay, Ansley, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; and Robinson, aye. 5 ayes, 1 nay.
Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion for Thomas Deering to attend detective classes
November l5, 19$0 at Hinsdale at a cost of $45.00. Seconded by L.
Robinson. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; ;King, aye; and Robinson, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to accept the resignation of Rebecca Meridieth
effective November 3, 1980. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call:
Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; and
Robinson, aye. 6 ayes, no nays., Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to hire Sue Bukowiecki as part time crossing
guard at a rate of $3.10 per hour effective November 3, 19$0.
Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Ansley, aye;
D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; and Robinson, aye. 6 ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
Meeting adjourned to executive session at 8:52 p.m.
Reconvened 9:23 p.m.
L. Robinson made a motion to approve the southeast sewer and water
extension program. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call:
Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; and
Robinson, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to change our present insurance plan with
Prudential to a new plan with Prudential at a rate of $1,945.00 per
month instead of $3,214.48 per month. Seconded by J. D'Arcy.
Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; Graham,
aye; King, aye; and Robinson, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared
carried.
On motion meeting adjourned 9:27 p.m.
