Ansley, J. D'Arcy, J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson, and C. Smith President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m, with the pledge to the flag. Rall call was taken. All members of the Board were present. C. Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 2 and September 16, 1980. Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, pass; and Graham, aye. S ayes., no nays, 1 pass. Motion declared carried. Board approved the Plainfield Lions Club request for their annual Illinois candy day for Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, 1980. Baard approved the Knights of Columbus request for their annual Tootsie Roll drive to be held on October 31 and November 1, 1980 recommending they refrain from any on-the-street solicitation. Mr. Ed DeMarco of the Plainfield Township Park District spoke before the Board requesting patrolling their parks, playgrounds and buildings. Board agreed to meet with Mr. DeMarco to discuss the passibility of better patrolling. L. Robinson made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the Plan Commission report. Seconded by J. King. Vote by rall call: King., aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. Board agreed to instruct the Village Engineer and Village Planner to contact State agencies for information concerning the flood plain line of demarcation on the property known as Country Manors Subdivision. L. Robinson made a matian to hire Gary Picha as a part time dispatcher at a rate of $3.75 per hour. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Marian declared carried. J. King made a motion to accept the resignation of Jeffery Hanford effective October 5, 1980. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, na nays. Motion declared carried. J. King made a motion to hire Timothy Hareld as a full time police officer at the rate of $13,494.00 per year effective October 6, 1980. Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to award the gas, oil servicing, and maintenance of all the Village vehicles bid to Dave's Service Center. Seconded by J. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion for Vera Krnac to attend the Municipal Clerks Institute, Champaign, Illinois Monday, October 20 through October 24, 1980. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to hire Leah Yates as a part time back up computer operator from the Plainfield High School Office Education work program at a rate of $3.40 per hour. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. G. Ansley made a motion to authorize Charles Smith to proceed with the necessary repairs to Lockport St., Plaza Drive, James St., and alley entrances to bath post offices. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. J. D'Arcy made a motion for the Village Attorney to draw up an Ordinance for no parking on the south side of Lockport St. from Dillman St. to Center St. Seconded by J. Grahm. Vote by roll ca11: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. On motion meeting adjourned 8:47 p.m. to executive session. Adjourned meeting opened at 9:42 p.m. L. Robinson made a motion for Ace Pipe Cleaning, Inc. to clean digester, aeration tank and grit chambers at the sewage treatment plant (to be reimbursed by Distillers Ltd.) at a cost of $7,320.00. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, absent, D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson made a motion to instruct the Village Planner to send berry contract to Distillers Ltd. for their concurrence. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: J. King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley, absent; D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried. L. Robinson made a motion for National Power Rodding Corp. to furnish the necessary labor, supervision and equipment to clean the grit chamber at the sewage treatment plant at a cost of $850.00 (to be reimbursed by Distillers Ltd.). Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith,aye; Ansley, absent, D'Arcy, aye; and Graham, aye. 5 ayes. No mays. Motion declared carried. Meeting adjourned 9:58 p.m. ~
