Regu ar Meeting
DATE: September 2, 1980 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees G. Ansley,
J. D'Arcy, J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson,
and C. Smith
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Rall call was taken. All members of the Board were present.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve the minutes of August 4 and August l8,
1980. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye, 6 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the Plan Commission
Report. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham,
aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, na
nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion that the Village Board not file a legal objection
to the proposed rezoning of the Talaga property located on Plainfield Rd.
from County R-3 to C-2. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy,
aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye.
6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. Graham made a motion to adopt Resolution ~~805, Amendment of Agreement,
between the Village of Plainfield(dated November 5, 1979)and Julius Wile
Sons ~ Ca., Inc. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roil call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, nay; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes,
1 nay. Motion declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to draw up an Ordinance for administering and
reviewing for the issuance of Industrial Revenue Bonds.
G. Ansley withdrew his motion.
Board granted approval of the ESDA Cadets car wash to be September 6th.

J. King made a motion to promote Sgt. Lantz to Lieutenant. Seconded by
J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye;
Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion for Lieut. Lantz to attend the Breath-alcohol
testing school at Cook County Police Academy, September $, 1980 -
September l2, 1980; at a cast of $325.00 (reimbursed by State).
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
S J. King made a motion to reimburse $300.00 to Thomas Deering for educational
expenses. Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham,
aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no

G. Ansley made a motion to advertise for bids for gas, oil, servicing, and
rmaintenance (per hour on a 24 hour basis) for all Village owned vehicles.
Seconded by J. King, Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King,
aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to adopt Ordinance ~~993; 6 parcels of property
located on the north side of Lockport St,;on the east side and west side
of VanDyke Road. Seconded by J. King. Vote by call call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. ~
ayes. No nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to adopt Ordinance ~~994; a 3 acre parcel located
at the northeast corner of VanDyke Road and Joseph Street (extended)..
Seconded by L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye;
King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
J. Graham made a motion to amend Ordinance ~~988; to read 12" instead of
7" for the maximum height above an inlet for on sight parking lot storm
water detention. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call: D'Arcy, aye;
Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6
ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to accept the final plat of Bada Commercial Park
subject to the Village Engineer's receipt of a revised plan of the relay
pipe from Seling Engineering. Seconded by J. King. Vote by roll call:
D'Arcy, aye; Graham, aye; King, aye; Robinson, aye; Smith, aye; Ansley,
aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion declared carried.
