Regu ar Meeting
DATE: August 18, 1980 AT: Village Hall
MEMBERS OF BOARD PRESENT: President Selfridge, Trustees, G. Ansley,
J. D'Arcy, J. Graham, J. King, L. Robinson ~ C. Smith.
President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the pledge to
the flag. Ro11 call was taken. A11 members of the Board were present.
J. D'Arcy made a motion to approve current invoices for payment.
Seconded by J. Graham. Vote by roll .call: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
King, aye; Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays.
Motion declared carried.
President Selfridge read a letter from Mrs. Carol Geddes, 301 Catherine
Ct. requesting permission to hold a tag day on Friday, September 12,
from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m, and Saturday, September 13, from 9:00 a.m.
till 12:00 noon for the Plainfield Junior Cats. The Board was in full
agreement to grant permission. President Selfridge instructed the
clerk to write a letter to Mrs. Geddes.
President Selfridge read a letter from Mr. Joseph A. Kulaga, 1$09
Sandbank Dr. West, requesting permission for the St. Mary's parish
annual Parish Family Picnic on the parish grounds and to obtain
approval of the Board to run a bingo game in conjunction with the
picnic on September 14, 1980. The Board was in full agreement to
grant permission. President Selfridge instructed the clerk to write
a letter to Mr. Kulaga.
President Selfridge read a letter from a concerned citizen about his
concern of the bad tracks of the E.J. ~ E. Railroad on Route 126.
The President instructed the Village attorney to write a letter to
the lllinois Department of Transportation.
J. King made a motion that Mr. Ralph Bada, Bada Commercial Park make
the necessary changes and requirements that the Village Engineer
presented before the final plat, Case ~~101-81280FP, will be approved.
Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: .Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
King, aye; Graham, nay; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 5 ayes, 1 nay..
Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the Plan Commission
report. Seconded by J. D'Arcy. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Robinson,
aye; King, aye; Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no
nays. Marion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to adopt Ordinance ~~988, Chapter 7, Article 3,
An Ordinance to amend the Subdivision Control Ordinance. Seconded by
J. D'Arcy. Vate by roll call: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye; King, aye;
Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Marion
declared carried.
G. Ansley made a motion to adapt Ordinance ~~989, Chapter 11, Article 3,
Section 3-26: Tax Levy Ordinance, 1980-1981; An Ordinance for the
levying and collecting of taxes for the Village of Plainfield, Will
County, Illinois, for the fiscal year commencing the first day of

J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance ~~990; Chapter 9, Article 4,
An Ordinance establishing Bartlett Avenue as a one way street. Seconded
by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye; King, aye;
Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adopt Ordinance ~~991; Chapter 9, Article 9,
An Ordinance banning parking at certain places with the Village,
Section 9-2-55: Both sides of Bartlett Ave. adjacent to the Central
Elementary School property (otherwise known as Lots 4 and 5 of
Bartlett's Subdivision) from 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Seconded by
L. Robinson. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye; King, aye;
Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no nays. Motion
declared carried.
J. King made a motion to adapt Ordinance ~~992; Chapter 9, Article 4,
An Ordinance to amend Chapter 9, Article 4, Sectian 4-1-3(a); that
Chapter 9, Article 4, Section 4-1-3(a) of the Codified Ordinances
of the Village of Plainfield be amended by inserting at the end
. thereof the following; Lockport Street - West traffic at Bartlett
Avenue and Lockport Street - East traffic at Dillman Avenue.
Seconded by C. Smith. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
King, aye; Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
L. Robinson made a motion to revamp the phone system in the Clerk's
office for the Village Planner to have the private number of 436-7095.
Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call.: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
King, aye; Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, no
nays. Motion declared carried.
J. King made a motion to grant approval for Robert Bastanche to
attend Joliet Junior College for an EMT course at a cast of $85.00.
Seconded by G. Ansley. Vote by roll call: Smith, aye; Robinson, aye;
King, aye; Graham, aye; D'Arcy, aye; and Ansley, aye. 6 ayes, na
nays. Motion declared carried.
