(Special Session. ) The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in Specitil Session in the office of said Board, Monday, June 2, 1919, at 3 o' clock P.M. Two of the members of said Board being present Messrs. Gilbert and Taylor, absent Mr. Peitz the following proceed- ings were had , to-wit: - The Board took up the claim of Mary H. Wisler against the City of Richmond. After the City Atty. recommended to compromise the suit . I/ Mr. Gilbert moved that the suit for damages of Mary H, Wisler against the City of Richmond including all' claims of her husband against the City for the loss of his wife' s services be' compromised • for the sum- not in accese of. Two Hundred ( 200.00) Dollars and Court Cost. Seconded by Mr. Taylor motion prevailed. ' The' Board" of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board, Thursday, June 5, 1919 , at 9 o' clock A.M. Two of the members of the said Board be ing present, Messre. Gilbert and Taylor, absent Mr. Peitz , the fol- lowing proceedings were had to-wit : - The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. ' The Board received the petition of Henry J. Pohlme7er, owner of real estate No. 4 Burgess out-lots in alley between -South 7th & 8 th , S. 11 T'G" & "ii" asking for permission to lay under private contract a cement approach in rear of the above described property. The Board decided to investigate . • The Board approved and signed a petition of Bernard Sharkey granting him permission to lay under private contract extention of sidewalk in fremt of real estate No. 116- i;'lizabeth Starr' s addition on the west side of.North 10th St. ,-.- between Main St. and the alley north, all work to be done at the petitioners expense and in accordance with the ste:ndard specifications for such work subject to the in- spection of and approval of the City Eng. 31 8 Thursday, June 5, 1919 . The Board meets to hear .remonstrances if any, of persons primarily assessed on account of construction of a cement roadway in the alley between South 21st k 22nd 'Street from South "A" St. south to the north line of Tract 537. Official Map under Improvement hesolution No. 559-1919 . After hearing Mr . Schuh one of the' residence property owners who appeared asking why the property abutting the end of said alley should hot be as- sessed. The Board on motion postponed Final Action until Mondqu June 9th , at 9 o'clock A.M. I/ The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any, of persons pri- marily assessed on account of constructiOn of cement sidewalk 6'ft. wide , also cement curb & getter on the North side of S. "B" St. from the East Terminal of the present cement walk at the East side of Tract 511 Official Map to 21st Street under improvement resolution No . 561-1919. No one appearing or re- monstrating the Board approved the final assessment roll 'con,- firming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved and now direct the same to be transmitted forthwith to the Dept. of Finance. The Clerk presented to the Board specifications for bids for City Advertising for the year 1919 . Mr. Taylor moved that the Clerk advertise for City Advertising according to these speci- fications . Seconded by Mr. Gilbert so .ordered. The Board decided not to spend any money on North 3rd St . be- fore oiling same . Also that when a petition is: presented for oiling any street it should be for a whole block or none . On motion the hoard approved and heartily endorsed the Resolution submitted by the 5dutli 6fd -Improvement Association asking for the Common Council to pass an ordinance establishing a City Plan Commission. Bills to the amount of $7,470.64 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls up to May 31, 1919 . The Board then adjourned. - a Pres. of the Board .
