Thursday, May 29 th, 1919 .
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
_ regular session at the office; of the said Board , Thursday, May 29 ,
1919 , at 8 : 30 A.M. Trio members of the said Board being present
Messrs. Taylor and Peitz, absent Mr. Johnson, the following _pro-
ceedings were had to--:pit : -
The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved.

The Board granted permission to Isom Elleman to garden the east
half of North-west 6th Street along lot 12 in Pitts & Hodgins Add. ,
for the season of 1919 .
The Mayor informed the Board that Mr. U. N. Johnson had handed in
his resignation as a member of the Board of Works which he accepted
to take effect June 1st , 1919 , and that he had appointed Harry W.
Gilbert to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Johnson
Mr. Baehr of N. Y. appeared before the Board and asked for permissio
to close South "A" St . between 22nd & 23rd , and 22nd from "A" to "B"
and from Main to "A" on 22nd for a 4th of July celebrati on held by
the Red Men. On motion of Mr. Peltz the Board went on record pro-
hibiting the use of streets for shows unless for the benefit of the
• City or Charity. Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
The Board instructed the Fire Chief to purchase a. 5 x 8 Flag for the
City Bldg. from the Adam H.. Bartel Co.
The Board received bids for one car or more of sewer tile of 10" 12"
and 15" inch
The Tiger Coal & Supply Co. bid:
10" @ Twenty -four and One Fourth Cents per ft. .242,4
12" @ Thirty-one and One Fourth Cents t4 " .31. 9/
15" L Forty-one and One half rr " .41Q
The Miller Kemper Co. bid:
76% off the list price, net , no discount.
Hackman-Klehfoth Co. bid: •
76% off the list price, net , no discount.
No. 1 Eastern Pipe Standard .
On motion of Mr. Peitz these bids were taken under consideration.
Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered.
The: Board then adjourned.
