The Board of Public 'yorks of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , Monday, May 12 , 1919 , at 8 :30 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proce.edings were had to-wit:- 1/ The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The Board received the petition for proposed sewer between South 4th and 5th Street from South "D" to South "E" Street signed by Calvin Wright and twelve ( 12) others. Referred to the City Engineer for plans. The Board received ,a notice from Wm. H. Jones authorizing them to repair the cement walk in front of his residence #411 V . Main St. , and agreeing to pay the cost of such work. The Board received a letter from Arthur Perley , Secty. & Treas . of the Indiana_Association of Park Depts. , South Bend , Indiana. ( See Letter) Referred to the Supt . of City Parks. The Board received a letter from Mr. Dillon, Supt. of the M.E.L. & P.F. setting out the facts regarding the F. & N. Lawn Mower Co. , Beebe Glove Co. ,' Richmond Malleable Castings Co. , and the Arlington Hotel securing all of their powerthrough two power meters, and their light through one light meter, and requesting that the Board out- line a policy to be followed, in connection with these institutions, and requests for similar service by others. The Board also receiv- ed a letter from Byram C. Robbins , City Atty. , in reference to the above stating that these four companies are entirely separate cor- porations and in his opinion this practice is an unjust discrimin- ation against other consumers, and is illegal and should immediate- ly be discontinued. ( See Letters) The Board decided to take this matter up with the City Atty. , and Supt . of the Light Plant in view of taking up same with the Public Service Commission. The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of Imp. Reso. #559-1919 providing for construction of a cement roadway in the alley between South 21st & 22nd_Streets from South "A" St. to the north line of Tract 537 Official Map. The Board instructed the City Engineer to look after and change the location of the stand pipe from in front of the Richmond Casket Co. on South 9th St ._ The Boardinstructed the Fire Chief and Bldg. Inspector to have John Foulke remove the lumber from on Park Place between South 10th & 111 Streets. The Board instructed the Fire Chief and City Forester to look up trees that are in dangerous condition and notify the property own- ers to have same removed. _ The City Engineer was instructed to get gear wheel and any other parts needed for the old road roller. 31 nnday, May 12 , 1919 . • The Clerk was Instructed to advertise for bids for a car-load of sewer tile according to the specifications furnished by the City Engineer. The Board of Public corks of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met - in regular session at the office of the said Board , Thursday, May 15, 1919 , at 8 : 30 A.M. All the members of the said Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peitz , the following proceedings were •had to-w•it : - - The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of the contract under Improvement Resolution 561-1919 . Mr. Peitz moved that it be accepted and the Clerk ordered to prepare the Assessment Roll Seconded by Mr. Taylor so ordered. The Board approved the Primary Assessment Roll in the matter of Improvement Resolution 561-1919 providing for construction of a cement sidewalk 6' ft. wide , also cement curb & gutter from the east terminal of the present walk on the north side of South "B" Street at the east side of Tract 511 Official Map to S. 21st St . The Board received a letter from the Bridges - McGaw Company, Indianapolis , Indiana , General Agents for the Maryland Casualty Co. asking for the cancellation of the bond of Earl O. Spangler The Clerk was instructed to notify said company to cancel : said bond. The City Atty. was instructed to notify Mr. Rodefeld at 96 West Main Street not to improve his property at the west end of the Main Street Bridge with any new buildings .
