Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of the said Board , Monday, May 5, 1919 at 8 : 30 A.M. All members of the said Board being present Messrs. Johnson, Taylor, and Peltz , the following proceedings were had to- wit : -I/ -The minutes of the previous meeting read and were approved. The Board approved and signed the petition of F. W. Woolworth Co. , by A. St.Pierre granting them permission to cut. underprivate con- tract a chute 4'X 5' ft. to be covered with steel doors, in the side- walk on the East side of South 7th Street at 152 John Smith' s Add. , all work to be done at the petitioner' s expense and in accordance with the standard specifications for such work subject to the in- spection and approval of the City. Civil Engineer. The Board meets to hear all persons interested in or who' s property is affected by the construction of cement roadway in the alley be- tween South 13th & 14th Streets from the first alley south of Main St . running east and west to South "A" St.under Improvement Resolu- tion 562-1919 , .No one appearing or remonstrating the Board decided that the benefit to property liableto be assessed for said improve- ment are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Engineer and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification, and the Clerk instructed to adver- tise for bids. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the C. & 0. R. R. Co. to have a Night Watchman at the North D Street crossing. Mr. Howard A. Dill , Supt . of the Richmond C i ty Water Works Co. , ap- peared before the Board in regard to moving of hydrant from the end of the Main St. Bridge to a more suitable location for the bene- fit of the Starr Piano Plant . Mr. Dill stated that to remove this hydrant to the place recommended by the Fire Chief would require an extention of 400 ft. without any additional revenue which he thought the Public Service Commission would not endorse. The Board decided to take this under advisement . Bills to the amount of il5,309.72 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board approved the various payrolls up to May 3rd, 1919.
